Looks like 1 of the 4 daily HKG-PVG flights has been up-gauged to an A350.

Kicked in December 19. Should be good news for most of us as these flights are the earliest connecting options from/to the US arrivals/departures.

Guarantees flat bed 1-2-1 seating over the mixed bag of 2-2-2/1-2-1 A330 with some angled seats

For the elite challenge, HX website says the business class ticket had to be purchased through either that site or their app. I bought my ticket on Expedia. Did anyone else use a third party site and still sign up/qualify for the challenge?

The T&R also say the ticket purchase time frame started on 1 September, but this fare and our tickets were all bought in August. Again, any issues with qualifying for the challenge?

Today's the last day to sign up for the challenge (probably the new version will be set up on 1/15, but not guaranteed to happen again)!

I initially requested to start in Feb., they replied that I had to start by Dec. 31. I also sent a front page of my Delta Medallion, it was returned because it didn't show the valid thru date. I then sent a photo of my digital Gold Medallion card with a Dropbox link, they told me they couldn't see it? Maybe they're in China, Dropbox may be blocked? I attached the photo, finally signed up for the gold challenge, starting tomorrow (12/31) for 100 days, which easily covers my trip in Feb.

I had to reply a few times, but they've been responding within hours.

Anyone cancel for basically no reason?

We can do a mileage ticket to Asia with better times. (Our HK Air routing requires an overnight in LA and a 2am BKK arrival.)

We would rather just do the FF ticket.

Thoughts?

Definitely worth asking. They might be happy to cancel. Try chat so that you have a record.

I booked through Vayama and ask for a cancellation cost, they replied with $250 airline cancellation fee and $100 Vayama administration fee. So total cancellation cost is $350 per ticket.

Since we are in the topic of changes, anyone know if I can change the return for a longer stay in Hong Kong? Currently booked on BKK-HKG-SFO on a Friday morning with a 4-5 hour layover but would be ok if we changed the ticket to stay an extra two days in HKG and take the Sunday morning return instead. Anyone tried that and if so what is the fee? Btw, booked through Vayama.

If no luck now, will probably still ask the HK rep in BKK.

I have had to cancel two of these trips. Both booked with Expedia. Just the $250 airline cancellation fee.

Possibly - they asked for a pic of the CC so I sent them front and back with my last 8 or so digits blurred out.

I flew this back in Thanksgiving. With IRROPS and downgrades, I tried to ask the rep at HKG if I could change it so that I can maintain the duration of my trip. The options I was given was to accept a downgrade to economy or to pay the fare difference, which was about 2,000.

The did difference get credited to your credit card or did you get an airline credit? Plus is the $250 per ticket? We have 2 tickets, one PNR.

Credited back to my CC. $250 a ticket.

Thanks. We're booked for late Feb but my husband might be starting a new job and needs shoulder surgery so we are considering cancelling. We'd only be out the airfare difference since we booked the St Regis on points.
