[prem fare gone]: Aa one way cmb-hkg-lax-nyc biz $1675 usd

CMB-HKG-LAX-NYC $1675 can also route via DFW

Pretty wide open on GF and good for those with AA system wide upgrades as space is available all the way HKG-LAX-JFK.

if upgraded access to great HKG lounges and flagship dining in LAX.

Also can work stopovers in HKG & LAX

A good deal if you want to stick to AA and can use upgrade certificates; not otherwise since $1900 roundtrips are available on good carriers as well.

Are you able to have HKG and LAX stopovers with same price?

No. The fare rules don’t permit that. TPAC on AA or JL metal only.

The fare component must include travel via each
transpacific sector on
one or more of the following
any aa flight operated by aa.

Yes, you are right, no CX metal. I was confusing this with another ex-CMB

+1 -- allows a connection beyond NYC as well. Booked this (when it was posted previously) for self and +1, CMB-HKG-LAX-JFK-DCA. Upgraded HKG-LAX-JFK to flagship F using miles (no copay since this books into full J & R) to have flagship dining at both LAX and JFK.

Interesting how many miles do you need for the upgrade? May be a better option than using system wide upgrade .

only 25,000 miles covers both HKG-LAX and LAX-JFK. this fare books HKG-LAX into R (so 2.0x EQM) and LAX-JFK-DCA into full J (so 3.0x EQM). the EQMs and the no copay make it an especially good deal -- CMB-HKG gets 3741 (2494x1.5), HKG-LAX is 14,520, LAX-JFK is 7425, and JFK-DCA is 1500, total 27,186. Works out to under 6.2 cents per EQM, and a little less than a wash on RDMs (5x Amex on $1683 and 11x AA on $1201, against the 25k to upgrade, assuming it all posts as fare-based). And then there's always the chance that HKG-LAX goes whack as it is wont to do, giving us an opportunity to route on CX or JL F instead... one can hope!

definitely better to use miles if you have use for a SWU on another route that would require a copay.
