[FARE GONE] CX: SYD-HKG-JFK in PE for 1329AUD/1001USD. 5 EQD/$ for AA

This looks like the best fare for an EQD run I've seen since AA switched to EQDs. Potential earnings when credited to AA:

EQM: 18978
EQD: 5060
RDM: 25304 (55668 for EXP)

I'm sure this would be great if credited to AS as well, but I'm not familiar with that program.

It looks like any date with E availability until from now until March '19 works. Here's an example Google Flights for a one day turn around. Looks to be bookable with CX directly or Expedia.

BOS is showing about $100 cheaper. I'm so tempted but.....

I wish I could pay someone to fly it for me and collect their miles.

Is this a MF? Hence, if one wants to rebook for $100 at a later date, will they charge the difference?

Looks like it is 27836 EQM/RDM for Alaska. Impressive although I am not sure I'd survive that long of trip in PE. Nice one, OP.

You can break up the trip if you want to have shorter flight segments by flying to Vancouver and then on to New York.

SYD-HKG-YVR-JFK $1,068

Similar cost from MEL, BNE, PER, ADL.

Good deal, except for needing that positioning flight.

Since the distance is 25306 and the EQM on CX PE credited to AA is 1.5 according to: https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...ay-pacific.jsp

Wouldn't it be 37,956 EQM?

On CX for Credit to Mileage Plan E class would be 100% of miles flown plus 10% Class of Service Bonus as EQM & RDM + RDM Elite Bonus of 50% for MVP, 100% for MVPG or 125% for MVPG75K.

Miles flown 25,306 + COS 2,531
EQM 27,837
RDM 27,387 No Elite Status
RDM 40,490 MVP
RDM 53,143 MVPG
RDM 59,570 MVPG75K

Interestingly, this itinerary would generate enough EQM to make AS Elite MVP status (25K with partners) as there is no EQD requirement or the need to fly any segments on AS metal.

Remember, you only need 50K for a CX J award from/to NA & ASIA.

Do this Itinerary twice to Achieve MVPG, three times would be 6,489 miles short of MVPG75K.

Here is how three trips would add up starting with no Elite Status.

1st Trip EQM 27,837 RDM 27,837 reach MVP
2nd Trip EQM 27,837 RDM 40,490 reach MVPG
3rd Trip EQM 27,837 RDM 53,470

Totals: EQM 83,511 RDM 121,470
6,489 EQM short of MVPG75K.

At MVPG you receive 4 Gold Guest upgrades, GGU's
At MVPG75K you receive 4 additional GGU's, 4 Alaska Lounge Passes and 50K bonus RDM.

You would need another 6,489 EQM to Reach MVPG75K. After completing that you would have EQM 90,000 RDM 121,470 + 6,489 + 6,489 MVPG bonus + 50,000 bonus for reaching MVPG75K for a total of 184,448 RDM. Enough for a Return CX J plus a one-way CX F to SE Asia. Not bad for $3K+ with no status. 😁

For someone already at MVPG75K three trips and the required 6,489 would yield RDM 241,388. That is enough for one CX F to South Africa (no F on HKG-JNB so J) return plus one CX J to SE Asia return.

Thanks for the information ssbmoro. I have a QF8 F award in August booked for 70K AS miles. This will get me back to north America several times. 😁

It also works as an open jaw with stopovers ie SYD-HKG-YVR//YVR-JFK//JFK-HKG-PER for $1077 USD.
