I did this with JL operated flight, but Avios will only award elite bonus points based on the marketing carrier, MH. So no extra points for JL operated flights.

Good luck with building one. Randolph

From KTM you can pay $100 less and fly Q-Suite or Cathay.

KTM to JFK

Are you referring to the ability to price in the stopovers, or the fare itself? The latter is readily available for a wide range of dates into 2020 - and bookable on any number of OTAs and the MH site itself.

I needed to change my flight and was only able to find one date in 2019 that included:
1) D fare... although they made me book in C fare for $140 extra, and
2) included a MH codeshare on JL metal to JFK
Otherwise, they were quoting my a change in fare of $7000. Does anyone know if more D/C fare space typically opens up? DEL to KUL and KUL to TYO (on MH metal no JL metal) is wide open. But MH codeshares are like finding bigfoot. Appreciate your thoughts.

Sure thing. Made a reservation late April, for travel in October. Three nights in both KUL and TYO.

IIRC, upthread, where TYO stay was discussed, a TA having done a double stayover (KUL + TYO) reservation on this fare, was recommended. Couldn't manage that myself, but made good use of £40 to have a pro fix it for me.

Edit: clarifying 2 x stayover

What is "having done a double stay" ? don't get what it means.

Point taken. Some important details fell out when previous post was entered to the thread, and therefore became unclear.

Thanks for alerting me.The post has now been edited, hope that answers your question.

noted. any TA recommendations? offline or online. need to add a TYO stopover since I live in Tokyo, and prefer the JAL tpac flight for the JAL FOP.

Check out post #101 here

Somewhat pressed in time to have the reservation made, they had problems in making the TPAC JL-coded, which would have been better for me, crediting to AA. Hence, I also have the MH code on this segment. Please report here if you can get it JL-coded.

Unhappy Still works?

I am trying on MH website directly with
BOM-KUL-ORD/JFK for 13th Dec and it shows a much higher fare.
Tried all dates in Dec and it no longer works. Am I missing something?
