Just to calm any nerves, I read that to mean 'If it gets through next week, we can probably relax' rather than anyone knowing that an active decision is due this week.

Just speculation - I think that if nobody has been booted by the end of this week, the chances of this sticking will improve tremendously.

Remember, though, that if there is a cancellation coming, it makes sence for that to take a little longer than usual. My logic for this is there are 3 separate entities involved in these tickets. There is the OTA, who issued the tickets; there is NZ, whose ticket stock they were issued on; and there is UA, who are providing 90% of the flying mileage.

If these tickets are indeed honoured, who is likely to take the hit here, and who has the final say?

One thing in our favour is that it seems like very few tickets have in fact been sold - much easier to quietly write off a dozen or so than a couple of thousand.

I don't think we're out of the woods yet, simply because of the number of parties involved. It may take some time to sort it out between them, and with what seems like very few tickets sold, they may not be treating it as a priority.

another week passed... If they'd go ahead and void those tickets surely some sort of basic communication should have reached us?

weird that they did that. Mine still as originally booked. Wouldn't mind an extra day in the City though
