Think that with 1.5 EQMs and a 25% EQD earn that it works out to be right around those nos. from ORD-MLE on CX for AAdvantage purposes.

I know this is slightly off-topic but worth mentioning. I booked a trip...THANKS OP. My first leg is actually HPN-ORD but not shown , my The flight I'm on gets in at 8:45 pm local time.( see below) Unless your "resort island" is nearby and has its own boat you will need to spend a night on the island or the neighboring island of Male, before going to your hotel. The Maldives are composed of dozens of small islands, many with just one resort on it and can cost over 1K per night. I'm staying at an out island, cost about 75.00 per night with breakfast and like many places in the Maldives no alcohol. I mention this because originally I was going to to a one night MR but it is so far and it appears to be beautiful so I will catch some rays and go fishing/snorkeling. BTW rainy season starts in May....happy trails to all.

Looks like you booked this on AA.com which may have been unwise especially for a MR as you will only receive less than2500 EQD as its ticketed on AA rather than ~5000 EQD had it been ticketed on CX. I don't know if it's too late to cancel but you can easily get this fare directly on the CX website or other OTA.

Mrs. Majuki and I opted for the Hotel Jen Malé due to the 8:45 pm arrival time of the Cathay Pacific flight. We're staying at the Conrad for our resort stay, but we didn't want to have a situation where we arrived late and ended up paying the resort price for a hotel in Malé. Booking at least one night in Malé or the Hulhule Island Hotel near the airport allows for a leisurely transfer to your resort the next day.

No, he's fine. Where you book makes no difference. The marketing carrier is the only relevant issue. His longer segments are CX marketed, so he'll earn EQDs based on distance. Excluding ORD-LAX on AA, of course.

CX: ORD-DEL/BOM/DAC/KTM/MAA/BLR in J for ~$2,500

Also works for ORD-CCU.

Great fares to much of the Indian subcontinent. Departing ORD Monday through Thursdays. This appears to be a fairly flexible fare, so I'd be interested to see what can be done with it.

Works on plenty of dates in April-August, from what I can tell. May also be available with LAX/SFO as the NA gateway city (still ex-ORD, of course). Doesn't work for all dates, but I have been able to do it on some route/date pairings. Going this route would save a potentially very long HKG transit (in some cases).

GF is giving some incorrect results on this, but the fare is easy to find on the CX website. Others do not show up on GF, but do show on the CX website.

Example Fares:

I booked by phone with Cathay on Saturday morning 4/1/18. They open for phone at 9 EST. The agent booked the ORD-LAX leg on AA as well. I was told I had till Monday anytime to cancel as Cathay was not available by phone on Sundays. They have limited phone hours ,at least in US. Later in the day when I went to AA.com my itinerary was there much too my surprise. The confirm from Cathay indicated the fare was booked in I. Not sure if that will cut my award mileage from the approximately 32K EQM and the 5.2K EQD. One last thing, when I called Cathay there was only one seat on my flight(s) available at the the 2500.00 fare even though GF showed many. I tried to get two seats and my brother is currently waitlisted.

No minimum stay. Great for mileage run! If I want to stopover in HKG for free, is this possible? I know that QR and SQ always allow free stopovers in Doha and SIN, but am not sure about CX for HKG.

Here is the excerpt from Cheapoair.com.

08.STOPOVERS
2 FREE STOPOVERS PERMITTED ON THE PRICING UNIT - 1 IN
EACH DIRECTION IN LAX/SFO/NYC/CHI/BOS.
AND - UNLIMITED STOPOVERS PERMITTED ON THE PRICING UNIT
AT USD 200.00 EACH.

Yes, it should be possible (and free). Just do a multi-city booking to price it out.

Exactly. I’m stopping in HKG for two days on outbound to CMB in june on this fare. The connections from ORD are almost always leaving you a 16 ~ 20 hr layover in hkg, but return is a two to four hr connection.
