You’ll still get your miles for what you’ve flown up to SFO. You have to pick up your luggage as well at customs anyways in SFO so you’ll be able to check in your bags too. Just don’t say anything to the airline you’re not going to fly the last segment.

I just got back from the Maldives a couple of weeks ago. If I didn't follow all the travel bloggers I would have never known there was an issue. Maldives Marines were walking around the airport but not with weapons so it was out of the ordinary for me to see it. As said before, just don't go hang out in the capital.

Also thanks to the OP. I purchased this for a June trip to the Maldives with a multi day stopover in Hong Kong. It will be great to check Maldives off the bucket list.
Went to Male last year on the R fare deal and upgrades ord X hkg. Call Asiamiles and make request. When they clear, I found there was plenty of time to transfer points in to secure the seat.

I booked this I special in June to cmb. Already going back to mle in May on QR 2 for 1 special...

Not to sidetrack the fare, but the CX arrival is 8 PM. I'm considering it for a short (3 night stay). For those in the know I assume you've got to book a resort with speedboat transfer or either burn a night at the airport hotel?
