It's bookable. Try expedia.de which shows you 218€ a/i ($312). Other combinations work as well, like ZRH-NYC-MUC at the price of 250€

The fare includes YQ. Trying to reduce price even further by elimination of YQ

I've been trying to book this using expedia.de checking "Mehrere Flughäfen" and the above routing. What dates are you using?

I'm not sure, but maybe they mean the cost of a third strike would be similar or greater than the YQ saving?

Since petty much the cheapest FD leg is $~72
ETA: Bookable on .bomb.
The Open Jaw reduces the YQ. Other city pairs are slightly cheaper, i.e. GVA-EWR-LHR is $311.

I was not thinking about traditional third strike because lowest trans-border base fare $ 70-76 is higher than YQ $ 58. I was hoping for some other innovative approach.

is this trickable'?
I haven't been able to get Europe originating-flights to work for some time now, either on xp.fr or anything else. If you find that it is trickable, please let me know (i'm ex-LHR). Has anyone in Europe had any success? What are you using as the third strike now?

Unlikely that there would be any innovation to eliminate the basic taxes and airport fees. Third strike and open jaws eliminate the add-ons.

Did you see my posting TXL-EWR-LHR UA (Co codeshare) $ 313 ( includes $ 58 YQ). If London based you would just buy a o/w Airberlin or other low-cost carrier to Berlin

I was ONLY talking about eliminating YQ in a way other than 3rd strike.

The YQ eliminated has always been surcharges, not taxes and airport fees, as far as I know. Why would there be any trick that eliminates them, and would such a fare be honored if taxes and fees were removed?

the third strike is the only way that i know of to eliminate the YQ surcharge.. so im not sure what you're getting at? a $58 surcharge is obviously not a prime target for a FD if you know what you are doing as most third strikes are more expensive than that. as others have stated the lowest strike is at least $70.
