Only Raffles can speak for himself, but one obvious possibility is that when he checked, the cheapest seats on both the main trip and FD trip were still available, but have since sold out.

Finding SIN fares in the mid $600s from my city, 9/5-9/8 (Labor Day weekend +1). Works out to a 2 night, 1 day stay in Singapore.

The fare is about $70 more than I'm finding out of other cities for the same dates, so it's not bad. Can't find the <500s, though, so maybe this could be worked lower.

The lowest base fare (ex-BOS) I can find in Sept is a tad under $400 (without the strikeout) for short stays, so I don't know that the $503 is available in Sept. Try Oct dates.

Crediting to AP is possible, but IMO the redemption rates don't look that great compared to AA, even for Biz (at least not from where I usually travel to/from). A good way to get *G, though.

The SIN Fares are also around $500 from BOS/PVD/BDL/PWM and many Illinois and California Cities and around $50-$100 more from IAD/NYC/LAS/PHX/DEN/DFW/STL/OTHERS..

I don't think that's the case. Raffles has been consistently able to get a fare down $50-$100 lower than what the rest of us can do. He has one secret that we haven't yet figured out. Maybe he'll reveal it in his Chicago DO. Or maybe we'll make him spit it out, like in the TV ad where a goat gores a guy to force him to spit out a long-lasting chewing gum...

They are. And that's why they are in this thread!

If it involves a FD, it's found here. Simple as that.

Ok. I can get ITA down to $538 from SFO, which is a bit above Raffles' sub-$500, but still better than $550 (what seems to be the current best).

Here's the kicker. While I have entirely figured out how to use ITA to find good FD fares, booking them eludes me (I have some idea of the codes used on the forum, having read all of the pages, but I can never seem to get bookable fares to work based on my understanding).

PM me if you can share your booking knowledge; I will share how I managed to get the fare down to $538 (and may have some room to wiggle lower than that).

EDIT:

I can also confirm $501 ex-LAX fare (and have now figured out how to book); took some fiddling, but apparently I was on the right track!

Has anyone managed to FD any Air New Zealand flights with xp.fr? The trick seems to work with most Star Alliance carriers, yet I haven't had any luck with Air New Zealand yet...
