POS from LGA is cheaper but has been vilified earlier in this thread as an unsafe destination.
Forgive my ignorance on this, but isn't LGA-POS less than 6K miles?

Also, how do you work your magic in Google flights? I tried inputting the above itinerary, but am getting 0 results....teach me sensei!

I apologize for the confusion, I was finding UA itineraries even though this is the AA thread.

I use http://www.gcmap.com/ to get the distance, and then the EQM calc is straightforward.

for AA, economy flights are 1EQM per mile, bus and first are 2 EQM.

For partner airlines and such, there are probably better tools available. This one allows me to visualize a route and either see why it doesnt net as many miles as I would like, or see an alternative route or destination that may work.

Specific fares can be gone very quickly, think hours. Waiting four days makes it unlikely that the fare will still be there. You snooze, you lose.
Learn how to use google.com/flights, so that when you are ready to buy, you can find something and buy it. It wastes everyone's time if you make a request with no immediate intention to buy.

I agree, I apologize. I actually had it on hold and forgot to purchase it.

I'm fairly savvy with Google Flights, but for some reason, I just can't pull that fare on any other day, or close to that price. I was able to find the ORD-AMS fare, but this one https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...sc=b;a=AA;mc=b

is a little tougher to find.

OK, I apologize too. My comment was needlessly harsh. But I don't see that routing on any day for less than $934 anymore.
Here's one that is better priced, but it doesn't get you home on the same day.

Thank you so much for this...I also needed 6,500 miles but to reach PLT unfortunately (didn't fly enough to reach EXP this year due to local work projects).

I just put this itinerary on hold, leaving from the same city and all; maybe jimbo_halpert and I can do the MR as an FT team!

I didn't buy right away in case I could find something the same price or better for travel next weekend (11/18), which would be more convenient for me, but 12/3 gets the job done as well. I'll be on vacation as of 12/9 through to next year so not much time to get this done. Unfortunately my flight to Asia is on Etihad so no EQMs because no codeshare with AA

One more question...thought the masters of the MR may be able to weigh in here. I was getting a price of $551 for EWR-MIA-CUN-CLT-EWR for travel 2/18/17 - 2/25/17 (with one night stays in MIA and CLT). That's the lowest price I got, or an extra $300 for direct flights to CUN for a 1 wk anniversary trip for wife and me. I have hotel points I can use to show 2 more cities to my wife who's never been there.

I live closer to LGA but fares were way higher. Any better pricing available out there? I checked Google Flights which was giving lower flights for outgoing trips leaving on 2/20 but the returns were pushing the price back up.

I have a timeshare booked from 2/18 - 2/24 which I guess can be pushed forward/behind a day or two.
