MCO-SCL is still there, AM is probably fixing it now so I'd book ASAP before it's gone.

Booked this out of MCO for the first week in April (I wanted to do JFK, but I missed it! Will miss that other 787 leg), very curious if these bookings get cancelled or not.

But from this, it seems though should not be big issue Any Tips for a Turnaround at SCL?
Thanks for that link! Four month old post from tc fly girl, same 2 hour turn-around " Easiest turnaround I think I've ever done." - Sounds very easy. Confirmed and ticketed from MCO

Why would anyone want to do quick turnaround at SCL? There's so much to do/see, why not spend another 2-3 days, consider it as extended weekend. I even regretted not booking 1-2 day stopover in MEX initially (never mind, stopover not allowed as I booked MCO-SCL too and will decide which to keep).

In addition, unlike Europe and Asia, regional flights are very expensive in Latin America, therefore JFK-SCL at $1100 <> JFK-EZE at $1100 if you actually want to go to SCL or vice versa. AV and CM have JFK-MVD going for around $1050, adding regional MVD-SCL will surprise you (cost wise).

Speaking of overnight layover at MEX, advice on where to go/see for 14-16 hours besides staying inside airport hotels?

AM flies more than twice a day to many cities, it's often easy to intentionally make a long layover at MEX.

Expensive? I easily find SCL-EZE Y for less than USD300 roundtrip. Or you could redeem 15k avios on LATAM or 16k UA miles.

There are a lot of options for MEX long layovers. You can start with the destination forum here.

Booked in August from MCO for an extended weekend in SCL. I had the JFK fare ready to go but got pulled away for a meeting.

ORD-LIM less than $600. Recliners all the way, though.

Yeah but for the ~17k MQMs... pretty darn good. Think it priced out to $585. I can handle recliners on those mid length flights. I booked one that's a 2 day turn (I was in Peru last year) and 2018 will be my first year really going for DL status so it'll be a nice boost.

In my case, I already have 3+ weeks of vacation time planned for 2018. The ability to leave Friday after work, be back early afternoon Sunday (thus needing no additional time off work), earn 21,000+ MQM/RDM and 4,000+ MQDs makes the same day turn in SCL very appealing

Thanks again OP!

Does anyone know if this works open jaw into SCL and out of EZE? I have a trip with friends taking that itinerary.

I am with you, and next year would be my first year qualifying status with DL as well, for use through 2019.

This fare plus MCO-SCL would net more then 40K in MQMs and almost $8K in MQD, for less than $1,600 in actual spend.

I just checked and it's still out there for Ord/Lim on Orbitz at $585. I booked it last night on the Chase site for 39074 UR's pp.
