Are you suggesting making LA top tier, and then status matching to Alcoholics Airlines?

That is actually not a dumb idea. I wonder if it would work.

Does AA match status? My BA Gold status is expiring in a few days, my matched LATAM Black status will expire in March or so.
I rarely fly Oneworld these days (and when I do, it’s usually a business class award ticket), but having Emerald status would surely be nice...

No. we earn status by flying and meeting EQD (12k) for exec plat.

AA status simply isn’t very interesting if you don’t regularly fly on AA metal. BA Silver (Sapphire) fliers get lounge access on domestic AA flights, unless AA Sapphire fliers etc.
Guess I’ll stick with BA, I just need to decide if it’s worth renewing...

Of course if you fly Oneworld a lot it’s a different story. With my clients being mostly located in Scandinavia and QR hardly having any sales anymore, I find myself flying paid Oneworld tickets less and less.
I could see myself flying TATL on Oneworld again, but then the question would be if it wouldn’t be better to credit BA flights to AS...

This is still really strange... a couple days later nothing that is LA related will price properly between SYD/AKL/SEL-SCL-TYO. Not even the new prices... I suspect something else is going on rather than just them pulling the fare...

Edit: Having had a look at the LATAM forum.. this is probably highly correlated with the release of 'branded fares'.

Maybe the decided the old fare wasn’t good enough, so they’re filing new fares with higher MPM.

I have flown one mixed-cabin itinerary and I also have one coming up in February starting in Sydney. 9 segments, 4Y all less than 5 hrs flight time and 5J. SYD-AKL-PPT-IPC-SCL-MAD-LHR-SEZ-DXB-NRT then JL FΧ2 awards home, CX F&J awards to Australia to start our 5 week vacation.
