How nice of you to do that! I mean, who cares about everyone else who isn't protected under Quebec law, right?
If you think that after a fare is pulled, published on blogs, on well-known forums, etc. that a carrier isn't aware of that fare and who booked it, you'd be mistaken. Revenue management can quickly find out who booked any particular fare.

Indeed, it's something that can be wise in common-law jurisdictions - should things go nicely, a carrier may be estopped from voiding the contract for unilateral mistake.

My calling will have no impact on your booking. I'd agree that calling a carrier during the course of a sale may be unwise, but certainly not after the fare has been manually pulled.

What's up with bloggers and this new fad of recording call centre agents?
In this case, it's for evidentiary purposes. Something more folks should be doing to protect themselves.

I especially love the title of the blog. Must be an 'ironic' title?
It's a joke. Ha.

Almost all the flights of the next 2 weeks are showing:

J0 C0 D0 I0 Z0 Y7 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 X0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 G0 A0 E0

Weird...

What kind of compensation would one expect? From BA or XL? Or will XL re-route you to GYE at JFK, meaning one would likely have to overnight there.

What's up with everyone being so bent out of shape about calling the airline now?? Do you really think anyone's calls will have any bearing on BA's decision to honor the fare or not? I agree about not calling during the "fare sale" but it's been almost 24 hours.

"Mr. Cruz, a dozen more FTers called to get seat assignments in the past hour."
"How dare they?? Cancel the tickets!! Cancel them all!!!"

I have now heard all sides and have considered all the arguments carefully, and I have rendered my verdict:

Pretty sure diazepam, which is the generic name for Valium is available over the counter. I know Xanax is for certain.

mmmmmmm I doubt it

i have gotten Xanax in Peru on quite a few occasions just by simply asking the pharmacist, but every single time they say, ok we will do it, but we are not allowed to, next time bring a script (I’ll ask if I have a long bus ride , flight etc)..

im sure it’s the same way in Ecuador. It might happen but not supposed to

Actually you’re way wrong. First off in Lima you have to know where the pharmacies are that give out prescription medication OTC. (Hint: they are across from the Atlantic City Casino).

Ecuadorian pharmacists are allowed to act as doctors and “prescribe” medicines on the spot. That’s why in Quito you can even get prescription medication at the airport.

^^^^^^

emj12 congrats on a home run first post!!!

FYI for AA flyers/credit to AA...

Even though I put my AA number in on the BA site, it was not in the proper field. I had to call AA to get it put in the proper place and grab AA (and LAN) seats. A simple way to know if it is in the right place... if your BA reserved (or other agency) reservation does not show up in your AA profile, it is NOT in their correctly.

I think this is only true if you have a segment or more with AA or on AA numbers. For routes without AA flights it wont show up. That has always been how my BA flights have been.

Seriously, talk about hitting a home run. This should get an award for the best first post ever.

If anyone wants to know more about GYE please PM me.
