I spoke to some AA flight attendant friends. One of them is based in MIA and does this route a lot and said it’s one of the least favorite routes because passengers are very rude, and the city isn’t very safe. Also, the best hotel is that Courtyard by Marriott for those interested. Frankly, I’m just planning on staying inside my hotel mostly. However, she did also say Ecuador sells any medication you want OTC.

Has anyone booked positioning flights yet? I booked an AA award in J as I was worried a lot of Alaska flyers were going to jump on positioning flights to London who reside in Seattle and wanted to get a good flight. As a 75k I’ll only lose the $25 partner booking fee anyway.

As far as I am concerned, there is not a problem with the ticket until there is a problem with the ticket. Then I will deal with it, should it come up.

There's still a signifcant difference in price comfort and service, whatever BA's downers say about the airline..

I’m not saying I will not go out. I will probably do one or two days. But with three trips planned I’m in no rush to be outside in Guayaquil every day. Not to mention I heard it’s hot as hell there everyday.

While I hate when people call the airline, over at OMAAT, one poster named trex stated...
"Just got off the phone with BA….she tried to get me the fare, but after confirming with the manager she said it had expired. She did say though that it was a valid an intentional fare and that they booked two people over the phone and they should go through without a problem."

Take it for what it is worth. Hopefully a positive "data" point.
