Please:
Do NOT call the airline while the fare is still alive!
(Definitely dead now. Plead your case to have your ticket(s) reinstated!)

Ideally I'd wanna wait a couple more days before I feel more comfortable about a positioning flight but a flight today was all I could find for award spacto Oz.
DOT made a ruling on these type of tickets, all your hotels, all you flights are covered if NZ cancelled your ticket.
you might even have more protection from Australia rules.

Did they ticket? I have one with Expedia that has ticketed and been charged. Fine at the moment.

Yes I used expedia.co.th as i am normally buying flights originally departing bkk in Thai baht. Price was 32k baht or close to it, so about same everyone else was paying in USD or AUD.

I booked pretty early while this thread was still on page one my chase card was charged, I recieved ticket numbers, Air NZ record locator and seat numbers....really pissed

True. I booked few tickets on Expedia US before which was directly processed by the airline. So I thought no reason Expedia AU will be different.. Anyway, lesson learnt.

So DOT rules apply as flights are to and from US soil?

I plan to file DOT complaint....Air NZ doesn't answer phone calls right now...or at least I'm not willing to waste 20 mins on hold.

I tried to check my reservation on NZ website and it's not pulling up. Looks like NZ is canceling tickets...

Cancelled by NZ, ticketed via US Expedia

Dear Expedia Traveler,

Air New Zealand made the following change(s) to your itinerary:

* Cancelled 4 of your flights.

If you have recently been in direct contact with the airline and have initiated these changes yourself, there is no need to contact us. Changes made directly with the airline may not be available for viewing in your Expedia itinerary.

Booked through Orbitz. Orbitz still showing active but checking ANZ isn't pulling itinerary (and it was an hour ago). Looks like i'm heading for cancelled as well. Here goes the DOT appeal.

In the case of canceled, you get a refund while awaiting results of appeal? Or ?
