Another thing, when I check-in at the AC counter in YVR, can I request for my check-in luggage to come out at SEA since I'm gonna be staying there for the night?
If you're leaving the airport, I don't think "transit" is correct. If you're staying the night with a friend, you're definitely stopping.

Yes, you should explicitly request that the bags come out in SEA, though I suspect it would anyway, given how much time you have in SEA.

Did anyone ticket a lap infant after NH confirmed that they will honor the fare and when it was no longer available? I did not want to call in on the day when the fare was still available to avoid triggering any alarms so I wonder if ANA calculate lap infant fare based on purchased adult's ticket or current adult fare (10% of which now exceeds the adult fare we originally bought)?

Since I never transit in the US - specially not international-international what can I expect? I will need to clear custom but will I need to pick up my check in bags aswell?

Carry on is with that trip simply not possible.

Just looking into the position flights and much easier to fly back from SEA then YVR to SFO

Curious what airline everyone is going to credit their miles to. I'm not really a *A flyer so was thinking of crediting them to Virgin Atlantic which gives you 200% RDM's. Cheap J USA - EU on Delta and ironically on ANA. Anyone else crediting their miles to VS?

A YVR-HND-SYD-HND-YVR routing would give you 38'184 miles/EB-points, putting you 6'816 miles/EB-points shy of EB Gold.

SK seems like the best candidate, especially if you can cross the 45k threshold in one go.

Since I'm essentiallly starting over with *A, I'm going to open an A3 account and credit to that... If SK still had their family pooling account I'd do it with them, but it seems only A3 still has that.

Going into the US from elsewhere except most Canadian & a handful of European airports, you'll claim your bags after immigration but before customs and then drop your bags at the recheck prior to reclearing security for your onward flight. YVR-SFO, you'll pass through US preclearance at YVR and be shown a picture of of your baggage when making your declaration.

YVR-LAX-TYO-SYD-TYO-LAX-YVR is the only routing that will give you EB Gold in one run, with a total of 45'600 EB-points

seeking a little advice from my star alliance friends here.

1 "O" First upgrade seat available on my NRT-SFO.

On a reservation of two passengers. I attempted *A upgrade on United.com, only to get error message saying no upgrades. I assume because 2 "O" seats are needed.

Now...

1) I have seen reports on here that people were able to push *A upgrades without O space through United. FYI I'm ticketed on ANA stock.

2) Would calling MileagePlus help chances at all? Are agents able to push through.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I've of course set EF alerts. Any insights into probability of two seats opening up as well?

Cheers! TGIF.
