Original premium fare deal was for QR J class travel, originating in Vietnam (SGN and HAN) to several destinations across the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Travel period 8/2017 - 3/2018 inclusive, RT fares in the USD 500 - 700 range (USD $0.05 base fare).

Reports have now been circulating that all held, non-purchased fares have been canceled by the airline. Some held and then purchased fares were also canceled, but several reports indicate at least some of those have been re-instated.

For more information on flying Qatar Airways, visit the FT forum: Qatar Airways | Privilege Club. This thread in that forum is especially useful: Qatar Airways Forum Dashboard.

This wikipost is intended to help us better understand if there are any trends (by route, travel date, and/or held/ticketed status) in these cancellations. In all entries, please include: outbound or inbound departure date, origin-destination, original ticket status (only *if* "Held" or "Ticketed after Hold"), and current ticket status only *if* your ticket was cancelled ("Cancelled" or "Cancelled & Reinstated").

Looks only bookings that are set for later purchase are cancelled. None of the real tickets are cancelled as I can read?!

luggage handling and immigration are two separate topics.
just because they can through check your luggage does not guarantee your ticket out of Vietnam is valid.
As you can see samples from above, your ticket may be cancelled at any time, and if the airline bringing you into Vietnam allowed you to board, your luggage and you would both be stuck in HAN/SGN.
Your luggage stuck in HAN/SGN isn't an offense for the airline to be fined/penalized by Vietnam, that is your personal problem to solve.
BUT, but having YOU stuck airside in HAN/SGN is an offense for the airline to be fined/penalized, and the airline's problem to solve!
As long as the airline bringing you in can't guarantee you wont need to enter the county, they will want to see the visa.
I really suggest you don't roll the dice at the airport!

My hold for two tickets through PHL was cancelled. Just couldn't fully book without first confirming coverage for my two young kids (especially on the other side of the world and for 12 days).

Crossing my fingers they continue to honor ticketed itineraries for those of you that fully pulled the trigger.

I've made a hold booking for which I later paid using a credit card. It said payment is OK but there was no e-ticket number. (so technically it wasn't yet ticketed.) Now the booking seems cancelled, PNR no longer exists. Is there anything I should do besides contacting them? Anyone who've already paid but got the booking cancelled too?

Same deal but paid for my hold and received a ticket number now showing cancelled. Any recourse with Brazilian regulators (SGN - GRU ticket)?

Held booking and got cancelled. Finger crossed for more of the same promo from other Asia ports such as HKG, BKK or SIN!

It would help if someone created a Wiki and everyone submitted their travel dates and routes. Might help clarify if they are cancelling because of the routes selected.

for a 48h on-hold booking no need to pay. For 72h a charge of 20USD.

You get a Booking reference (PNR) (which is 6-digits) on an on-hold booking but no e-ticket number from my experience.

That's what I did but it got cancelled. My PNR is no longer valid.

Better to let the dust settle for some days.

Wow... Perfect descriptions of the drama.
Ten hours ago I followed this thread and found the 'golden tickets' but decided to wait as my wife felt that we travel too much. Luckily we've saved the hassle.

But seriously, Qatar marketed them as 'golden tickets' at first and then refuses to honor, that's lame.

A "Hold" is a contract as much as a "Ticketed" booking. Any booking routed to/from the US will fall under DOT authority...time to pressure QR to honour legitimately advertised Golden Tickets or lose its authority to fly to/from the US.
