Oh they did ask if i booked thru 3rd party and i just replied that i heard the virgin call center was outsourced and they couldnt return the original routing. That was enough to get going.

This is exactly why I'll let the earth make a few more rotations before giving VX a call to get my September, October and November runs fixed. It also makes me glad I was able to book directly with VX via google flights and that I saved copies of e v e r y t h i n g

I have my first run in May.... sounds like a good time to have them fix some/all the changes caused by this latest round of "updates!"

I just got back from my first trip and going on another one tomorrow. I had to call VX back in February to get my May trips reinstated. Hasn't changed since.

My MVPG wife and I completed our LAX-IAD-SFO-PDX run last Th/Fr without a hitch. A few random/rambling thoughts:

• Used PP to access the KAL lounge in LAX at TBIT (enough acronyms there for you?). Had a decently-long wait between our positioning flight and 11:50PM departure so made full use of the pour-yourself beverages. Thank you KAL.

• Were both given Precheck for VX flights; made it quick n easy getting into T4 at LAX and using connecting walkway to TBIT.

• I always (almost?) enjoy experiencing an airline for the first time. I found VX to be comfortable enough even with only Y seats. We did have a row of 3 seats for the two of us between IAD-SFO so that leg was quite pleasant. Like everyone else AS elite I’m not thrilled that there is no reciprocal elite access to the Y+ or even preferred seats. What a crock.

• F seats do look very nice for domestic F and I would be perfectly happy in there for something 5-6 hours long. I doubt I’ll ever make it into one before the complete switch though.

• The emphatic announcement by FA on SFO-PDX leg regarding forward lav being “for the unencumbered enjoyment of our first class passengers in rows 1 and 2” was still ignored by a half dozen + pax who availed themselves to the now-too-hard-to-resist forbidden fruit. It was also partially due to the FA’s using a cart for service on that leg, oddly enough the shortest of the three we were on but the only one with cart service.

• I love the mini bottles of water they distribute and leave out for self-serve in the back galley. Great concept, especially when one is up to something this ridiculous.

• We did not use the Red™ seatback system for ordering any food so can’t speak to that. For entertainment I guess I like it a bit better than AS Beyond™ system. I really disliked the power port location though, what a pain.

• Crews were fairly good but nothing remarkable. Best crew we had on the trip, by far, was on the AS PDX-PHX flight Sunday night. Obviously that was not a part of the VX booking...

• We accessed the Turkish lounge in IAD, again via PP. We both (separately) had a brief but very nice hot shower which was a godsend after the redeye. The food offerings weren’t plentiful but they were certainly sufficient. I was able to fashion an omelet of sorts out of the scrambled eggs, seared scallions and some cheese. Very satisfying.

• I did NOT attempt to access the AF lounge in IAD, sorry everyone for dropping the recon ball on that one. I should have popped in there to get a quick look – or perhaps more - before checking into the TK lounge because once I took the relaxing shower and made myself a plate or two of brekkie I wasn’t going anywhere till I absolutely had to.

• Upon arrival in PDX I told my wife that I felt great and that I was really sorry I didn’t book a few more of these. She gave me that look, the one she often does, which I took for her being a little less enthusiastic about the prospect. I’m not sure that even I would be happy about doing a full R/T of one of these though. But I sure do wish I had a few more "one-ways" on the books.

Our miles from the 5/3-5/4 VX flights have not posted to our AS accounts yet, am I understanding correctly that they won't post until next Tuesday the 16th?

I have 3 of these flights starting at LAX that need to be "fixed" back to the original schedule, does anyone have some extra time to consult on these? PM me and maybe we can work something out, thanks

I used the system to order complimentary drinks. It worked - the FA would without fail show up some minutes later with what I ordered. It's an excellent option for someone in the window seat.
