If you take one of these trips all the way to the east coast and back you will be Sapphire.

One question - I am offered the NRT-DFW flights on a 789. When I look at
Seat Guru, that appears to have only business ( although called First).
But both business and first fares are offered. What is the deal on AA?

Is true first only offered on the 777ER?

And to YYZ it seems that there are no discounted F options on JL, only
full F. Is it worth booking first then changing after?
First part of your question...true F is only on JAL's 777. You'd have to fly AA metal to get F (or route through LAX0.

Second part, I am not sure about what you mean.

ICN-NRT-LAX
LAX-JFK-BOS
Then on the return BOS-JFK-NRT-ICN
All for $3k. OMG, I get to fly JL F twiceeeee
The thing is, my return leg is on February while my intended date is in December. Since this book to the highest fare F, I should be able to make free date change after my first flight, right? Do I have to pay any fare difference
Thanks Flyertalk!!^

Found the AA ICN-DFW flights, but they aren't operated by the 773, so no F.

I'm about to book a second ticket
Question:
BOS-NRT on JL is only in Business class even though it is sold as First Flexible fare. Will it accrue EQM as F (paid fare) or J?
If I do ICN-NRT-BOS on JL, it will all be in Business.
Thank you

Why would you pay F price for J seats? I get that it could be sold as such, but you can easily route via JFK or ORD and get the true F experience. Unless you really want the nonstop NRT-BOS.

This.
No one should be buying this ticket and settle for TPAC AA First or JL Business. There are plenty of ways to get JL First.
One would be borderline certifiable to choose NRT-BOS in Business when you could get NRT-JFK in JL First with a simple connect to AA 3 class First JFK-BOS.

If Asia stopovers (eg TYO) are not permitted during pricing, does that mean that either: i) post booking or ii) post travel on 1st segment, we can change the date of the first last legs, thereby creating a stopover in TYO for example? Or will the ICN-TYO-US segments be married and effectively inseparable to allow for a stopover?

Is the fare to ORD in F is almost the same or much more expensive? What strategy I should do to book a round trip ticket in F with my final destination is ORD?

I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong...but try searching with SEL as your departure rather than ICN.

I did a quick test ICN-ORD and the options were AA one-way and JAL on the return, in F.

But if you do SEL as the departure, you get GMP-HND (switch to NRT) and NRT-ORD in JAL F both ways.

Weird, but that's how it's worked for me. (I'm not booking this, but am having fun playing around).

No. Would require a re-fare.

I just pulled the plug, and booked ICN-NRT-JFK return for under 3,500,000, requiring
an overnight in NRT on the outbound, with JAL F both ways.

Thanks to the OP for bringing this to light.

I may try to refine with the SEL departure as noted by Grandgormand above.

You can move the return without a fee or fare difference (well, if you re-route JFK-LAX on the return that will add a bit I think, but if you keep your routing then it will stay the same). What you will come up against is the maximum validity of the return, I think it is one year, so you wont be able to change the return to later than that.
