When I called Expedia just to see what would happen, I was informed AZ would contact me in the next 24 hours. It was fun while it lasted folks ^

I've also received an updated itinerary from Alitalia now.

Originally 26Dec FLR(AZ)FCO(AZ)SCL and 02Jan SCL(AF)CDG(AF)DUS
Now 06Jan FLR(AZ)FCO(AZ)DUS

PNR on the AZ website now shows the revised routing and the section "Total Paid" now says EUR 852.00 + EUR 685.20

Checkmytrip no longer finds the OTA or the AZ PNR but the AF PNR brings up the FCO-SCL-CDG-DUS sectors as confirmed

Totally confused

How about some coordinated response to these "routing enhancements" by AZ?

How about we initiate chargeback instead of simple cancellation as our "gesture of goodwill"? :-)

Expedia just processed by refund. Spoke directly with supervisor at AZ myself. Been told:

"It was totally our fault sir, we apologize and give you the choice of total refund or fly to Dusseldorf direct, flexible on the date".

Fingers crossed my ticket that was re-plated onto 001 stock will hold!

My other 055 ticket will be cancelled. I was more excited by this one, to be honest.

I think my mind would explode if they told me it were due to good will that they offered a refund.

Any cancellations of itineraries to the US or those that touch the US soil?

There is nothing you can do, and no need to do anything.

Your refund will eventually reach you.

Just sit tight and hope for better luck next time.

I thought the cancellation doesn't help you if the ticket is canceled? I understood it was only if they cancel the flight or you get sick or something.

DoT will no longer help you. If you have a ticket involving CX, AF or EY (so far confirmed, more to be added surely) then you can expect your ticket to go West too...just not in the manner you had originally hoped

I believe the actual statement was that full refunds would be available regardless of the fare rules/fare basis should an affected passenger not wish to travel any more.

As a person who flew the massive error fare from aa last year (biz rt gru-Dfw-nrt), I'd wait. Most people's tix were cancelled but I slipped through.
