A post on VFT over lunch indicated that people who previously couldn't select seats on their AF-operated sectors could now do so; I logged in on af.com with my Amadeus PNR and was able to change/select seats. Awesome!!

Despite what appears to be coming...

No, fare rules state whether stops or routing is allowed and time frame. "Legal" applies to law. Fare Rules apply to the "contract of carriage."

Bummer.
You had CX involvement in your ticket, right?

Can those who report irregularities/changes with their tickets include the destination and airlines involved - and rough time frames of travel - please? Just to see if there is a discernible pattern

Yes, my booking was originally for December 30th, arriving in NRT on the 31st, leaving there on the 1st and landing in DUS on the morning of the 2nd. It has now been moved to depart on the 31st.

Edited to add, I was due to be returning on CX via HKG.

They could give them a choice of either a voluntary downgrade, or not flying at all.

Fingers crossed for my own ticket, departing Jan 6.

I was due to fly in 44 hours. I am very disappointed to say the least! I still have 3 bookings active.

Expedia is now in contact with AZ to figure out why are changing my ticket.

I have an AZ / KE / CX ticket and that's still looking fine right now. Seats selected on the CX website, and ticket showing in full on Saudia.

Very sorry to hear NufNuf!
But it looks like their IT system is not as bad as we thought.
Taking care of the "urgent cases" first, people departing in the next days.
Let's see what kind of explanation AZ provides back to Expedia.

Incompetence ??
I'm not really sure
What they want is to get rid of all these J RTW tickets in between FLR and DUS and doing so they just have to wait for all of us to cancel them !
And that's definitely what we'll do if they keep going the same way.

But on technical point of view I really wonder how they can manage that...

Please be more specific. You experience a one-day date change but no change in itinerary/carriers?

Althrough they didn't stick for me. Could you check if your seats stay choosen?
And yes, the perspective is not so good
