That is rule #1 of anything deal related. FYI sharing on flyertalk means killing the deal given the bloodsucking bloggers.

Remember, AA gives a 24 hour free hold. If they don't offer a hold due to partners involved, then you get a 24 hour cancel. Hold or book then worry about the details.

Isn't that used to?

Pretty sure they changed to 24 hour free refund a while back.

I was booking through AMEX travel since they had further insider discount..1200ish for SGN or half that in MR points if you have the Business Platinum.

I thought AA hold went away as well or at least that's what I read in one of the blogs.

I think they did for a short period of time, then the hold came back.

Aargh. Thanks a BUNCH bloggers. I've been looking for a J flight to SE Asia for a while now. I check here every day, and poof, gone before I could book.

Aargh. I was looking for a last-minute mileage run, PDX-BKK/HKG/SIN/ etc, in econ last night.
Missed this one this morning. Would have cost me ~400 more than Y to fly J.

Wah.

I got LAX-HNG-BKK on AA/CX 77Ws ($1800) but I had no idea when I could go or when is a good time and I booked October. Looks like it's a toss up if the weather will be good or not.
Too good to cancel because of a little rain, ey?
