Partner flights in premium economy can be helpful for mileage earning out of NYC.

The SQ sale last month ($1,200 for NYC-SIN) was a good opportunity. Prices are higher now but still possibly worthwhile. E.g.:
- NYC-SIN -- $1,500 for 19k miles
- NYC-BOM -- $1,900 for 24k miles
- NYC-AKL -- $2,400 for 30k miles

Departure airport: SFO/SJC/OAK
Miles needed: 10-15k eqm (I realize this may take a few different trips)
Budget: ideally less than $250 per trip or if I can keep CPM under $0.05
Travel dates: most weekend days over the next several months (ideally would like same day turns)
Ideally this would be AS metal only so I can requalify for MVPG with the 40K AS-only tier rather than having to get to 50k with partner airlines.

Been watching options for a while and the best I can seem to do is SFO-EWR with same day turn (might even be the same plane/crew) for around $240 which would get me roughly 5100 EQMs each trip. Any chance of anything better popping up? I have a feeling these EWR flights might be my best bet and I doubt they'll get much lower. Also been watching SFO-DAL flights since AS tends to have a lot of sales but the RT cost would need to be under $150 to make the CPM equivalent to the EWR flights and all I've been seeing lately has been $189+

Any insight here would be much appreciated

You missed $191RT SFO-RDU and SFO-PHL that were out there about 2 weeks ago, though those started with a red-eye segment going east. Those $240-250 range NYC fares seem to always be out there off-season, so I don't think you need to worry about booking them right away. I'd also keep an eye on Baltimore and Orlando in case they go on sale, though it would be pretty rare to see them under $250.

Want a few segments in from LAX or BUR, ideally around $40 per segment or less. Any suggestions? Thanks

Help me make MVP for 2019

Current MVP who status-matched from WN.
SAN-based.
Flexible for midweek travel.

Im expecting to be at 15,576 with my current travel plans. That leaves me short 4,424.

Not a huge budget to get there, but Im curious what anyone can help me come up with.

You could do a same day SAN-BWI on most Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays in September at $251. You'll need to book via the Google Flights link to Alaska to get that fare (booking directly on the Alaska site it will price at $258). Great Circle Mapper shows that at 2,295 miles one way, so Alaska should award miles pretty close to that and knock out what you need.

You can get LAX-SFO for ~$45-$61/segment, but it doesn't look like you can get the $45 back to back for a RT.

You should be able to get $45+$61 for the RT though.

I commute between PDX-LAX weekly and am looking to get MVPG75K before the end of the year. Current projections land me at 44.5k EQM by December 15th (when I would stop commuting until 2019) barring any work travel which would only be a thousand miles here and there. My normal flight plan is leave PDX Wednesday morning, return from LAX Friday night. Any help is appreciated!

Departure Airport: PDX or LAX
Miles Needed: 30.5k
Required Spend or Budget: Would like to keep it under $3k
Available Travel Dates: Any Friday afternoons from LAX, or weekends between now and the end of the year except 9/1, 9/9, and Thanksgiving/Christmas.
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Codeshares are fine as long as it gets me the miles.

Fly Qantas

There are some cheap ($800) fares to Australia. Qantas gives 100% of coach miles flown toward your AS account. (Most other partners will credit only 25% or 50% of Miles flown in coach). Good luck

Just keep in mind when you use partners you'll need to reach 90K and not 75K. I requalified with the 90K route last year.

I looked at the Qantas and it seems like the deal only works if you stay in Australia for a few days. The cost of hotel stays etc make it a bit too much at that point. I'm looking at booking AS JFK flights in between every flight so my travel schedule would look more like:
PDX->JFK->LAX->JFK-PDX. I'd only need to do this run 4 times to hit status and it'll cost about $0.06 per eqm which seems pretty good. I also wouldn't need to worry about hitting 90k from partner airlines.
