For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value):
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:

Route(s) You've Already Searched:
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)?

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD.
There are many good fares to China (PEK or PVG). If you have a Chinese visa, these options will be provided.

If your requested PQM is in a few thousand, please give a more accurate amount. You will get fewer options with a roundup number (eg, 5000 instead of 4830; IAD-SFO nonstop will work for the latter.)

No, not all do. But the total PQM that I gave you was from the United booking page, which will have the correct amount. Below is a screenshot showing the values on the booking page. You can check which partners earn which amount by going to this page: https://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/mar...ePartners.aspx

Departure Airport: PHL (also EWR if necessary)
Miles Needed: 5320
Required Spend or Budget: <$1000 (electronic travel credit)
Available Travel Dates: Any days in Dec except Dec 2-5
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: UA - to use credit
Route(s) You've Already Searched: PHL-IAH in F leaves me ~150 miles short; PHL-DEN-ANC for $650 in Y is pretty cheap, but that's also a bit of a haul.

I know going from UA Gold to Plat isn't a big difference, but might as well take the leap with the credit that I have, which expires in early April. Thank you!!!

UA ORD-based need 13,747 (thinking mainly domestic)

Departure Airport: ORD (MKE, IND, others nearby)
Miles Needed: 13,747
Required Spend or Budget: ~$1000 (ideally)...some flexibility on this; buying first is OK as it also helps get the miles while staying domestic
Available Travel Dates: weekdays or weekends, but ideally two days with one overnight
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: codeshares fine (might be unlikely)
Route(s) You've Already Searched: ORD to west coast to east cost back to ORD

would like to avoid going to asia in coach. giving serious consideration to flying around north america. like the idea of booking first class fares to increase PQM.

really appreciate your help here, will probably be my first and last year as 1k
HKG is probably your best deal (please sign up for +3/$ RDM promotion before booking). https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...us/offers.html
Also check PZ spaces if you want upgrades.

I bet that this is your most efficient run if you find the days with low load (3 seat empty row).

I looked at this, but this leaves me just about 300 PQM short. Anyone know what happens in this case? Would I then have to buy up? The stop in IAD on the way home only gets me ~50 PQM. If I'm going to be that short, might as well just go nonstop each way, no? Thank you

Nevermind, this was stupid - I forgot about 500 PQM minimum segment IAD-PHL. I never look at flights logged while logged in to Mileage Plus. Thank you!

if you have Premier status, you will get 500 minimum PQM for the short segment. So, this trip will exceed your requested PQM by 150.

Thanks! A few questions KMXU,
I have a voucher for credit that United gave me, if i pay for part of my fare using it will i still get PQM credit?

Also, i can catch a direct to DEN or IAH out of DSM, just didn't know of the best option to get 9K and get back in a few days?

Lastly, do i need a chinese visa to transit in Hong Kong?

Yes to the first question and No to the last question. US citizen needs no visa to Hong Kong. If you fly to another Chinese city (PVG or PEK), you can get a visa upon arrival if you arrive or depart from a third country (USA-PVG-USA needs a visa; but USA-PVG-Japan-USA, USA-HKG-PVG-USA, USA-Japan-PVG-USA, etc, do not require a visa).
I am not know how to answer your second question. Please give me an example.
