AA/One World: 2017-2018 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed
.
Requesters and responders, please read this wiki before posting.
.
In order to organize Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request:
  1. do a search on your departure airport(s) to see if there's a MR already posted that might fit your need
  2. if you don't find what you need, post your request using the standardized format shown below in this wiki
  3. it's nice form to acknowledge the responder with a post indicating whether the assistance worked for you or not. This helps everyone learn about successful runs
  4. if several days have gone by and you have not received a reply, bump up your original post with a (gentle) re-ask. It might be your post was missed in the fray
For each response:
  1. quote the original request
  2. include the route cities, price, airline, cabin/class, EQMs/EQDs, and dates for the solution(s) found
  3. whenever possible, include a link to the solution as found on Google Flights, or attach as screen print of the solution if from another source

_________________________________________________

For each request, use this format as shown. A glossary follows to clarify each entry.

Departure Airport(s):
EQMs or EQSs Needed:
EQDs Needed:
Max Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Max # Travel Nights:
AA only, or Partners Okay:
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N):

If there is additional information you'd like to share that is pertinent to your request, feel free to add it after this standardized request format.
_________________________________________________

GLOSSARY:
Departure Airport(s): list the airport codes of any airports you can depart from, identifying preferred airports if any
EQMs or EQSs Needed: the number of each/either that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
EQDs Needed: the number that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
Max Budget: the maximum amount you're willing to spend to reach status. Less is always preferable, but a max is an important factor. Please make this a realistic number for your goal.
Available Travel Dates: list the range of dates you're available. The more you list, the better your chances of getting a good MR.
Max # Travel Nights: the maximum number of nights you're willing to be away. The nights might be at the destination or at a layover city. If cannot be gone overnight at all, list 0 or "day run only". Again, please make this realistic for your goal.
AA only, or Partners Okay: if you want to only AA-coded flights (e.g. for upgrades, etc), then list "AA only". If you are okay with flying on partners (especially useful for EQD runs), then list "either".
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N): if you have a Chinese visa that will be valid at the time of the MR, then list "Y". Many good MRs have destinations in China, but you need a visa for those destinations.

I'd love to get to EP, but not sure if it's really feasible this year, and not sure if PPro is really worth the effort at this point, but I'd go for it if it can be done relatively cheap. The only travel I have planned the rest of the year is to San Diego which I can do in first on AA if I need the boost.

Departure Airport(s): MIA/FLL, can maybe reposition
EQMs Needed: 43,979 (EP) or 18,979 (PPro)
EQDs Needed: 5,997 (EP) or 2,997 (PPro)
Max Budget: $3500
Available Travel Dates: Nov 21-26, Dec 16-24
Max # Travel Nights: 5
Partners OK
No Chinese Visa
Both Domestic and International OK

Definitely good to go on EQD's, usually based out of either CLT or GSO, but am able to reposition for a better deal. Have about 15,000 EQM planned through year-end but will need to make up the difference

Under $2000 in a single trip is a tall order. 3 LAX in Business trips would do, and they can be found for $677 on scattered dates. x3 = $2031.

LON in PE is perfect on distance. Looks to be generally available routing through JFK for $3k, even under $2k on rare occasions, if you don't mind an overnight stop on the way back. There's also a $2500 with no overnight but painful routing.

Quito in Business isn't quite far enough, but Guayaquil is for $2387

TYO in PE: $2764; even though the domestic legs are actually in Econ, it looks like 21k EQM if I did the math right. Limited dates at that price, but others are still well under $3k.

GSP-DFW-HKG-SIN-HKG-DFW-GSP from 11/3-11/7 in Y would net you ~21k EQM for $1561.

DW had a Europe trip postponed to next year, and she needs 24k EQM to make up the gap. We're both tall, so PE or Biz/First is preferred. She's a big NYC fan and would be quite happy doing a couple weekend runs there.

Departure Airport(s): SAN \ ONT \ SNA \ LAX (in order of preference)
EQMs or EQSs Needed: 24000
EQDs Needed: $0
Max Budget: Less than $2000
Available Travel Dates: Anytime, but Thursday - Monday is best
Max # Travel Nights: 0-3 Days
AA only, or Partners Okay: Partners OK
No Chinese Visa, Both Domestic and International OK

I just tried it and it's working for me. Are you still having issues with it? It's BA Tier Point Runs | 2018 master thread

An LAX RT does it for $300. You just need to be sure you avoid the BE fares and direct flights.

LAX-HKG-LAX in AA PE is $1130 and 21,780 EQM. LAX-NYC-LAX in Bus is about the same for far less EQM, and PE doesn't appear to be an option; you'd need 5 Econ trips at $350 each.

You could take the HKG then make up the gap with a Bus hop to PDX or SEA for under $600.

AA Exec Platnium - Falling Short

I am trying to make AA Exec this year, I am certain that I will fall short by 15,010 miles. I could really use some help finding an affordable run:

Departure Airport: WAS (DCA, IAD, BWI)
EQM Required: 15,010
Max Budget: 800.00
Available Travel Dates: Dec 2 - 16, 2018
Max Travel Dates: 7
AA only or Partners Only: Both (As long as I earn the EQM miles)
Have Chinese Visa: N

Thanks for all your help in advance.
Nathan

BWI-DFW-HKG RT all AA-marketed for $847 is 18,679 EQM. Other destinations in the area, like CGK (Jakarta) would appear to be cheaper but don't seem to be available as AA-marketed flights.

IAD-LHR-JNB RT all AA-marketed for $767 is 18,565 EQM.
