I don't think you are entitled to insist on SQ honoring the exact same penalties. I might be wrong but I don't believe you can add stopover(s). Adding or removing stopovers usually changes the structure of the ticket (your xs and os can't change - e.g SCL-xGRU-xSIN-COK can't be changed to SCL-xGRU-oSIN-COK without a reprice with x = layover less than 24 hours and o = greater than 24 hours).

Received a phone call today.OTA offer was GRU-JNB(JJ)-SIN(SQ). Asked GRU-JFK-SIN instead. They must get approval from LATAM and SQ,so during the next week should be confirmed. If possible, I change that to direct SCL-JFK in business. JNB-SIN is scheduled with A359 in the next year. GRU-... must be in LATAM metal.

Thanks for new data point. surprised they didnt offer LATAM GRU-LHR/CDG/BCN-SQ/SIN. Does not look like any miles on LATAM will credit to *A. Doing a lot of research to figure out what new routing to ask for when the OTA comes calling. I also saw GRU-FRA/LH FRA-SIN/SQ that would work if allowed. I am standing by for my call from expedia.uk. I am worried of asking for certain routings and then SQ may question the low price of the ticket and cancel it outright. What metal are you asking for on JFK-SIN? and what metal on SCL-JFK? I am trying to maximize my *A miles and crediting to one like SAS. I saw United metal SCL/USA and onward on UA metal but not sure if I credit to SAS would I still get the same miles on a SQ issued ticket.

What OTA did u use?

Did your OTA make mention of the fare rules: unlimited stops after first flite?

Same OTA. They did not mention the fare rules. I asked about connection in CDG/FRA but with no results. I will know more hopefully during the next week. The JNB connection was purely OTAs suggestion without LATAM and SQ approval. I asked then about EU connection and with no availability(weird!) and they offered JFK one. I chose the flight numbers and times to help with the search.Only LATAM metal is allowed to outside South America.

What an interesting situation. Lots to speculate about, so here are a couple of mine...

How does LATAM work here? Does it have to be a JJ flight or are LA's available too? This fare is from SCL and LA opens up the much more attractive (to me) option of SCL/AKL. Very little difference in distance which direction one flies SCL-SIN, and flying non-stop from SCL is far preferable.

I like your thinking. I am booked on G0L from SCL to GRU. So I dont know how LATAM fits into this puzzle also. Hoping to see some members come up with some options for our escape from SCL.

Ha! Not such a terrible hardship, given the right accommodations!

Oh, dont get me wrong. I love Santiago and even more so the wine country nearby. Just was hoping to do some stop overs on the way to SIN. Agree the accommodations can increase the pleasure of a trip. Just booked the Ritz-Carlton in Santiago. I can taste the free champagne in the club lounge now....ah, another please...

I also have a GOL SCL-GRU, and actually would prefer OW miles instead of *A ones. But haven't heard anything from travelocity yet, let's wait and see! Since there's a stopover in BCN, I would expect they re-route via somewhere in Europe, and not South Africa or the US -although that might be OK in terms of getting another sector to fly on!

Question Fare Rules

Hi All -

Does anyone have the original fare rules for this? If so, I´d be really grateful if you can post them here for all of us or PM me.

I didn't make a copy because they were linked to my OTA booking, but disappeared since that changed and sectors were cancelled. Awaiting contact from the OTA, and want to be well prepared when it happens.

Many thanks. ^

Thanks, swaigiux - invaluable! :-:

One thing I cannot see is the ticket validity period. Can anyone confirm? The norm would be 12 months but, if it's the same here, is that from date of booking or first flight?

I asked this up thread and the answer someone gave was from the first flight. Which is my case is almost 1 year out.

I've seen both before, but can see no reference to it at all in the fare rules swaigiux kindly posted above. Can anyone else? Without it, we can only speculate.
