When you get in at 750, 1600 feels like the deal is dead. All relative i guess!

Down to $1467 after AARP ex-DFW or ~$700 after 30k redemption for my dates in May. DFW is an easy positioning flight for many

This case was a tragedy for not having Avios, a tragedy, I tell you! Having to pay $1200 when others paid $300, geez...

Another possible issue I am a little concerned about is that we spend all these thousands $ on BA because of the AARP discount, and what if AA puts a minimum spend requirement next year. Also, we may end up not getting some future extra mile bonuses next year, because we booked on BA. So, not ideal spending all this money on BA and not booking AA codes, but what can you do, that AARP discount is too sweet to pass up...

The lowest deals I saw after AARP were close to $1k, maybe a bit below. I doubt it anyone booked below $950 without the Avios discount.

Booked(@ around 2pm PST) SFO-LHR-MAD;BCN-LHR-SFO for mid-next year for $336pp (AARP+30k Avios). Without Avios it was coming out to $1100. Excellent deal! Thanks to the OP for posting this. ^

Even though I saw this when it was posted last night, I was going to skip. But when the LHR flight went down to $1600 before AARP, I decided to pull the trigger on a long weekend. As I'm pulling out my credit card to pay, my office building was evacuated for an emergency drill. Couldn't pull up the same itin on my phone and by the time I got back to my desk, only annoying connections were available for those dates and then the prices went up. It's been that kind of week. Congrats to everyone who purchased!

Yeah, I was game for at least two trips at the old price levels, but now I'm leaning towards passing.

I really need to burn rather than earn anyways.

How do you apply an AARP discount?
