Airline codeshare - How to force book it
Don't know if there is wiki or a page regarding Airline Codeshare bookings.. If there is please direct me and i will read.
My question : How do i tell a airline to book a flight ticket on code share. For example ITA Matrix provides the following routing Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Hyderabad (HYD) — Sun, Nov 1 Long layoverOvernight flight Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Paris (CDG) — Sun, Nov 1 Gulf Air 6584 Dep: 5:20 pm Arr: 9:30 am 9h 10m Boeing 777 Business (I) Dinner OPERATED BY AMERICAN AIRLINES INC. Layover in CDG Mon, Nov 2 1h 30m Paris (CDG) to Bahrain (BAH) — Mon, Nov 2 Gulf Air 18 Dep: 11:00 am Arr: 7:05 pm 6h 5m Airbus A320 Business (I) Lunch Layover in BAH 19h 25m Bahrain (BAH) to Hyderabad (HYD) — Tue, Nov 3 Gulf Air 276 Dep: 2:30 pm Arr: 9:00 pm 4h 0m Airbus A321 Business (I) Lunch Hyderabad (HYD) to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) — Tue, Nov 17 Long layoverOvernight flight Hyderabad (HYD) to Bahrain (BAH) — Tue, Nov 17 Gulf Air 277 Dep: 10:00 pm Arr: 12:10 am 4h 40m Airbus A321 Business (I) Dinner Layover in BAH Wed, Nov 18 1h 0m Bahrain (BAH) to Paris (CDG) — Wed, Nov 18 Gulf Air 19 Dep: 1:10 am Arr: 6:25 am 7h 15m Airbus A320 Business (I) Breakfast Layover in CDG 5h 5m Paris (CDG) to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) — Wed, Nov 18 Gulf Air 6649 Dep: 11:30 am Arr: 3:35 pm 11h 5m Boeing 777 Business (I) Lunch OPERATED BY AMERICAN AIRLINES INC.[/I] How do i ask a travel agent or AA to book this in AA Codeshare rather than Gulf Air flight number. I list Gulf Air flights are on AA Codeshare directory. |
So you want it ticketed by AA? Look up the AA flight numbers and hand them to them.
If it gets more expensive - then that's the way it is. Because as it is right now with your itinerary, it'd be ticketed and sold by Gulf Air on Gulf Air ticket stock, so their fare might differ. (Instead of flight numbers date, origin, destination and time should suffice, too) |

What exclusion is AA talking about on there codeshare website page https://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/e...s/gulf-air.jsp "Specific flights, routes or cities that are excluded from earning miles or award travel are listed as exceptions if applicable." Technically i am flying GULF AIR from DFW to BAH. |
No technically you're flying American Airlines as the flight is operated by AA. As for AA metal it doesn't matter what flight number is on there.
That's also below the chart: Travel ticketed as an American Airlines marketed flight (booked as an AA flight number) and operated by Gulf Air will earn AAdvantage base miles and elite qualifying miles, points and segments according to the AA mileage accrual chart. Just give them a call and inquire. As for the exceptions, that's a standard part of the accrual site. For example, if you click to Jet Airways, you'll find the following beneath the chart: Exceptions Flights between the U.S. and Brussels are not eligible for earning miles. Flights operated by JetLite are not eligible for earning miles. |
