Not sure why people think the A fares are non-refundable. If you are all BA-metal at least then you can cancel for 300 euros:

If you want to cancel your flight
If the booking is cancelled before the first flight, a cancellation fee of €300 per ticket applies. At any other time there are no refunds except for any government & airport taxes.

This is standard for BA ex-EU A fares.

EF quotes "CANCELLATIONS TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE.".
