Booked FRA-SYD in F for 1,800€ in December :)

Titom Aug 20, 2015 4:04 am

Seems to be pulled for SYD, however I can see a MUC-SYD with a inbound of J and outbound F for about 2,000 Euro. Not as good, but still a good deal

If changes than new pricing would be calculated right?

It depends - I could get a June booking ex-FRA, single flight number on LHR-SYD to come up with refundable / changeable for €300 conditions (plus fare differences when changed). Couldn't replicate for November or April though (I tried - for some odd reason November availability went through the floor after Raffles blasted his blog readership :()

And I've pdf'd the screen as back-up!

fonc Aug 20, 2015 4:06 am

I don't know why but jumped in at the last minute and booked TXL-LHR-SIN-SYD-SIN-LHR-TXL for March. Also I've got one OSL-SYD deal booked for December... If they will honour this I will be from zero to Gold in two trips.

I think sold out may be more accurate :D

Possibly a good thing given the credit card was already wacked out for a excellent CX/QR business fare yesterday!

Not sure about that... I just booked Sydney next feb!

a9504477 Aug 20, 2015 4:08 am

need to be in KL later in the year for business, so fingers crossed...

Anyway, this was fun! Kinda ruin my productivity in office this afternoon though

I didn't think this deal is dead - more likely it's FTers booking up what's available!! I've noticed dates disappearing as I've been looking, but now whole days are suddenly showing up as unavailable at any price, so guessing IT's coffee break is over.

I made a dummy booking. I couldn't see the reserve for 24hr option on the German site. Very interesting selecting seats - an option I don't normally get on my deep discount Y seats! Also interesting how many were blocked out already!

Also, I'm assuming you could cancel within 24 hours as per standard - or is that not a universal option?

zagy Aug 20, 2015 4:19 am

I'm in for MUC-SYD in Jan/Feb.. 3700€ for 2 tickets :)

e-tickets received, could select seats for LHR-SYD but not the return

Thanks a lot for posting this!

paulgibbs Aug 20, 2015 4:20 am

How can I find out what the ticket/fare rules are for this ticket I've just booked?

LHR-SYD, is that a refuelling stop in SIN?
or do you have to change plane?

Same plane.

jensjuul Aug 20, 2015 4:25 am

Not sold out yet. Just booked flight HAM-SYD 06/01-16/05. Anyone know what fare rules are?

Same here - but DUS-KUL - seats selected for outbound but not return

El Puerco Volante Aug 20, 2015 4:33 am

Where are you booking this, guys?I tried BA,AA,Expedia and all the rest - can't get the FRA-KUL to price anywhere close to this.Any tips?

Thanks a lot!

El Puerco Volante

irishguy28 Aug 20, 2015 4:34 am

This has been available on BA.com and someone reported buying on AA.com.

It's best to buy direct from the airline, rather than add the complication of a travel agent/middle man...

zagy Aug 20, 2015 4:36 am

Was mistaken before... I was able to select seats only for MUC-LHR on the outbound. LHR-SYD and SYD-LHR both return errors.

dmp1991 Aug 20, 2015 4:37 am

I can't seem to reproduce the OPs deal now so I'm assuming the deal is pulled? Then again I'm using ITA Matrix to search (even no seat available routings). Perhaps it's just not available there?

KUL fare is no longer available.

There has been a glitch in selecting F seats on 777 on BA reported for the past few days. LHR-SYD-LHR is all 777 (if you are on the through services BA15/BA16)

if you access your booking via the Qatar Airways website, you might be able to select seats.

For one of my bookings, this worked; for the other, it didn't.

PheonicianTrader Aug 20, 2015 4:39 am

ANCSALE has been repriced to be a proper first class fare and INCSALE is the business class fare [edit - this is pure guess on my part]

There maybe somewhere where the ANCSALE is still with the "I" prices, but I can't find it.

I could select my 777 seats on QF website.

Weird. I get the following on the QF website:

All gone?

But still with INCSALE 1.800€ to Sydney would be a bit cheap in C.

wheatbeer Aug 20, 2015 5:05 am

Is there a chance the 787 dates for KUL could be pushed later than 5th Dec?

I booked to KUL in both directions for mid Jan but now wondering if I should have gone via SIN or HKG to get on an A380.

What is First like the 777?

On Qatar website I can see seats but can't change them. QF is sending me back to BA which is useless. I don't think there's need to rush and choose seats as my flights are in May and BA website should be fixed soon.

I did see that as well however on the left side of the screen when I clicked seats it was possible to change them :)

NA-Flyer Aug 20, 2015 5:07 am

Surprisingly the major booking website like Orbitz and Expedia were not showing or offering the discounted fares of BA to KUL !!??

zagy Aug 20, 2015 5:08 am

What did BA do with the super-cheap OSL-USA First class tickets a couple of weeks ago? Honor or cancel?

AFAIR it was J tickets and BA decided to honor them.

paulgibbs Aug 20, 2015 5:10 am

If the tickets were going as ANCSALE (but have apparently been repriced), where/how do I find the fare rules for ANCSALE please?

Same plane as noted - sadly only 360 TPs each way that way, rather than 450 TPs (240 + 210), I figured I could live with "only" 800 TPs for the trip rather than 980 given I was getting a more flexible fare.

Think that's pretty much my GGL status renewed next year that to a couple of ex-Norway fares (360 and 840), an ex-GER to HKG (320 - I flew the first leg already), this (800) and some other bits and pieces. Just need 4 or 5 CE returns for work and I'll be there!
