I tried First, it did not work (or rather it did but went up 7-fold to about Ł7500).

I can't either. If it is the MOW-BKK W fare that I'm seeing then it is a routing based fare.

No Shayne, any skipped leg will result in your subsequent trip being scrapped.

I think I figured this one out. It's crazy. Let me do a few more tests and I will report back. But bottom line is that you can insert your fun diversion at SGN or BKK. And not just to SYD/MEL. I priced out a JNB, SIN, SEZ or HKG diversion too for not much more ($1990). And BTW, I was able to get Sydney down to $1700ish.

It appears you can insert an AUH-xxx-AUH in the middle of this for no cost. All of the xxx's I've found are east of AUH, but not all cities east of AUH work...

I have been playing around with it manually and it seems you need to stop 1 week in se asia and syd/mel . And i can only find it until late march theres nothing after that.

Im searching for Y flights only.

I didn't hit purchase so don't have that, but got far enough that I think it's simply not calculating the "diversion." If you type them in and look at the fare rules that are displayed, there is no mention of the diversion cities. And the fact that it's not showing on other sites, I think OP has exposed some "interesting" logic on the Etihad site...

Sounds like LED to AUH fare with routings list not cut, but strangely cannot have 2 RTs to SYD ie only one glitched fare component prices out with another being normal.

I booked for a mate dme-bkk-Syd-led and connecting with another one dme-hkg-Syd-led . The first itinerary is in business class and the second is in economy . I figured by the time the next trip comes around they should upgrade him . Paid all in $3000

Thank you OP for the post
