If ITA shows "D" for the exact same flights, dates, AND price; then I would assume that's what's being sold to you by AeroMexico.

For earning Delta Skymiles; C,D, and I are the same 150%. "J" is 200%.
I'd certainly be careful if AS only wants to pay miles on "D".

To be sure, I suppose you can call the airline. This isn't an error fare.
The fare basis is shown at the last page on aeromexico.com just before submitting the payment. This is when we accept the terms and conditions, there's a small link which opens up. For the highest fare, it does book into J or C.

Depends on which class and dates you book. I got J fares.

Don't forget about the World Elite MC benefit they have... 2-4-1 on AM J fares. I got off the phone with one of their travel advisors and they quoted me ~$2,200 in total for two after the 2-4-1 and the taxes/fees on the companion ticket. $1,110 per person is pretty darn good if you ask me.

Wow, great thought here. I would have to upgrade my Aviator Red to Silver for world elite status...wonder how quick I could make that happen to gain this feature.

Thank you OP very much!! I know deals 'die' at FT, and this was probably out elsewhere, so thanks for posting. It was the first I saw of it.

The AA Exec. MCs are all World Elite MCs I believe due to the required CL, so it should work.

I just booked a ticket ORD-MEX-EZE 4-9 November for $1438. I've never been to EZE or any part of Argentina. Anything I should know for those of you that have been there before?

Looks like for at least some dates and cities, a similar fare is available to Santiago (SCL), also served by a 787. For example ORD-MEX-SCL return for US$1,333 AI.
