Everyone calculates this differently, of course. Personally, I'm not into immediate-turn mileage runs, so I agree with you.

But, as someone who values MQMs and loves the idea of seeing Argentina for the first time (and 787 for the first time), this is an incredible deal.

I completely agree that it's a great rate for business class to Argentina. If I were spending time there, there would be no question.

I'd only be taking this as a MR to collect MQMs though, and considering the unparalleled luxury described in Eastbay1K's review, FT has given us plenty of alternative runs for half as much on a cpm basis.

I just took ORD-MEX-EZE and concur Eastbay1K's point - a truly unparalleled luxurious experience. My outbound ORD-MEX was on a 738 with Sky Interior, which was very very nice, and the service was quite pleasant. However, when it comes to MEX-EZE 788 segment, although I have adjusted my expectation to bare minimum, my wife and I were still shocked when we saw the omelet/cereal was presented around noon time, which may drop any iron jaws. Again, no menus or wine list were distributed throughout the flight.

As Eastbay1K noted, the wine selection is okay but you have to ask - during the omelet/cereal session, FAs only brought out juice/water/sodas. AM actually has some quite good tequila on board.

In contrast, the pre-arrival meal was okay. I was offered three options: steak/grilled salmon/pasta. I would suggest avoiding steak at any cost.

The hard product of AM 788 is great and it may be the only highlight during this flight. If you choose AM 763, then try to change it to 788 if you still can.

As a side note, reciprocity fee receipts were thoroughly checked at the boarding gate and there is no way, absolutely no way, to board the flight without it.

If the steak is bad on board, not to worry. The Buenos Aires parrillas will more than compensate. I just want to fly the 787 and get to BA again.

There was a few months ago when I booked. I'm going over Christmas.

I think the deal is gone now.

Just double-checked mine and the o/b fare basis is CRW7PP, the return is JRXPP.
This shows up in the confirmation email I received from AM after ticketing.

Curious where you see ref to I. I'll likely credit to AS, so I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. By the same token, would hate to see anyone cancel this excellent fare in error.

Has anyone done the trip to Buenos Aires in the last few weeks? Wondering how it went. I'm not going until December but excited to try out the Business class on the 787.

#153 was my mini-report. One point I would like to add to the unparalleled luxury of AM is: on my return flight EZE-MEX, the crew was so nice and considerate that I woke up by myself about 5 minutes before landing. That's to say, they let me sleep all the way through initial descend into final approach, which I never experienced before.

The transit at MEX was a mess! The immigration had a long queue (even in the morning!); the Customs had a long queue coz we came from SA and S.A.T officers thoroughly inspected everything in our luggage; the security had a long queue...anyway, I was happy to kiss good bye to my luxurious experience with AM.

This deal is dead right? Wonder why it's still showing up in the premium deals subforum instead of being moved over to the discussion one for dead deals.

Been away from FT for a few weeks. Really didn't miss it. But what a let down. Less than one post per day in this thread!
I guess I didn't miss anything.

Refund qs

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread. For folks who were able to use this, I hope you had a good time . Unfortunately, I had to cancel my tickets. Question for those who ended up canceling the tickets: How long did it take for the refund to be posted? Their website says 5-7 days, so I called back after 7 days and the rep says it can take 4-6 weeks

If memory serves I saw the refund come through within about 10 days.
