More love for Toronto. American Airlines is showing $386 USD/$450 CDN roundtrip flights for select dates in February-June, August-November for flights going to Rio de Janeiro Brazil.

Fares are showing on google flights, ITA Matrix, Kayak, etc.

Bookable on American Airlines.

Any specific dates you're looking at?

Best I could come up with: $407 (2/16-2/23).

Still a great find! Almost worth positioning up from Florida.

I just booked one off of Google flights. It was pretty easy to see the dates - practically everything was $448CAD.

EDIT: Fortaleza (FOR) is also available at the same price.

Fenomenal! Found YYZ-CLT-JFK-GIG-JFK-YYZ for CAD449. Also, keep in mind stay requirements:

"TRAVEL FROM LAST STOPOVER MUST COMMENCE NO EARLIER THAN 3
DAYS AFTER DEPARTURE FROM FARE ORIGIN
OR - TRAVEL FROM LAST STOPOVER MUST COMMENCE NO EARLIER
THAN THE FIRST SUN AFTER DEPARTURE FROM FARE ORIGIN."

The visa is only $81.25CAN for Canadians. (~ $69 USD)

Fellow Canadians, do not let this deter you! The visa won't cost you that much!

Playing with dates to see if I can make this work for my 2015 plans...

Unless one of your prior clients has paid for a visa in the past (one of my colleagues), or paid for a passport of another nationality that is visa exempt (in my case)

Yes, been to GIG, not cheap, and the loonie has not held up quite as well as the USD although the real has gone down a bit as well.

Yeah if you live on the USD it has gotten much better in Brazil for you, most of South America, actually.

I consider the $160 an investment, if it lasts 10 years, amortized is just $16 a year. Sounds good to me

Havent been to Rio in 9 years. Time for a visit perhaps

Great price, put one on hold for late August, hoping UA or DL will match

EU passport, no visa.
