Flight Changes
Many changes have been made due to Etihad schedule changes. In some cases, connecting flights are being swapped to nonstops. Some have been able to get this changed back by calling Etihad, others have not. You may have to repeat call / HUCA to get it switched back.

Update 12/28/14: Etihad will honor the fare per Forbes article.

The point of a mileage run is to get the most miles for the lowest cost... But I guess I shouldn't expect somebody who just joined and called the airline during a live mistake fare to get that....

And if you'd been around this site longer, I'm sure you'd see even more absurd things!

I just noticed today that etihad changed my ticket on my on 1/22. It looks like this happened to others here as well, but my destination is different, so I thought I'd post by info.
I have a JFK-CDG-AUH-HYD with stopovers in each. The last leg was operated by Jet Airways. On 1/22, etihad exchanged my ticket to switch the 9W flight to one of their own flights, one that departs 7 hours later. Strangely enough, I got no email or phone call like some of the others here...I just happened to log into virtuallythere.

I called them and they put it back to the way it was. He "offered" to further remove the AA flight to CDG by giving me a direct flight to AUH on etihad, as they are probably instructed to do by now. I declined, and he said he made a note that I'd prefer to go through cdg. ^
Booked through onetravel.
Update: I noticed on the re-issue that instead of "Seat# (CONFIRMED)" it now it says "CHECK-IN REQUIRED" for the flight in question. I called to see if I could in fact choose a seat, since I used to have a confirmed seat before they switched flights on me (maybe I was now standby or something).

After a long hold, he said he could not choose seats, but also dropped a bombshell. He said the entire ticket was issued by mistake and should be refunded and he would be forwarding it to his supervisors.
I repeated a couple times that I had a confirmed ticket number and credit card charge and that the ticket should remain as confirmed. Hopefully his supervisors have been instructed not to cancel these tickets...
Should get a call back in 24-48 hours. Will keep you posted.

edit: just got a call from the superior. I think he either didn't get the lower guy's request in full, or had already decided the ticket was ok. He simply was asking me what the problem was. I said there was no problem. Case closed, whew. And here I was buffing up my knowledge of DOT rules

At 7Kg that's a little over 15lbs. I don't think they follow it to closely from what has been said on the thread? Others have stated they allow extra for laptops, purses. Plus 2-50lb (23Kg) bags checked is ok.

You seem to have no clue about what FT is all about. No wonder your posts seem to get seasoned FT members who come hear to help bit riled up.

If I find myself process of mileage run "absurd" then I would do bit of research before posting so many times in mileage run forum. A lot of people value and respect contributions from seasoned posters like Adam1222.

Sorry in advance for the tone but did not want to see FT degrading into FW.

FWIW, I went through all of EY's partners earning tables that I could find and nothing credits more than 50%. There were a couple that I couldn't find, but I don't think they'd be 100% anyways.

ANA seems like a good option, but there are a lot of other good options out there, depending on how many of these one is flying. I recommend looking at each airlines' individual redemption chart to see what fits their needs instead of blindly trusting the advice of a blogger.

I've been reading about people's itinerary changes. I already had a direct flight so didn't expect to have any for myself. Then I got a confusing email this morning. Confusing because it says "Your flight reservation has changed", but I can't see any changes!

It doesn't even appear that flight numbers have changed. Any ideas? Anyone else get one like this?

Well I just received ANOTHER schedule change email. Unfortunately I'll be receiving another update:

"Where the schedule change has resulted in a missed or extended connection with another flight, please note that Etihad is currently rebooking those flights and a fully updated itinerary will be emailed to you by Monday 02 February."

9/7 ORD-CDG
9/15 CDG-AUH Arr 6:50AM
9/15 AUH-ORD Dep 3:40AM

So obviously that won't work. I assume they'll give me a day in AUH, which is fine, but I hope they don't mess with CDG

My direct flight changed too. The outbound time is better but the return sucks (guess we're camping out at the airport the night before).

departs ORD 1:30 PM, arrives AUH 12:20 PM (+1 day) EY 150
(original flight - ORD 8:45pm to AUH 7:20pm +1 day)

departs AUH 3:40 AM, arrives ORD 9:30 AM EY 151
(original flight - AUH 9:45am to ORD 3:25pm)

@medichill:
I assume it's the arrival time at JFK on your return. (Mine also changed / +10 mins)

Now have to change my positioning flight to Chicago. I wonder if Expedia is going to call me now or wait until after 02/02.

I got the same notice that lots of others are getting, flight moved up about 7 hours earlier leaving Chicago.
"departs ORD 1:30 PM, arrives AUH 12:20 PM (+1 day) EY 150"

So far so good since my positioning flight into Chicago gets in early but damn that's a huge shift that will no doubt affect a lot of people.
