Flight Changes
Many changes have been made due to Etihad schedule changes. In some cases, connecting flights are being swapped to nonstops. Some have been able to get this changed back by calling Etihad, others have not. You may have to repeat call / HUCA to get it switched back.

Update 12/28/14: Etihad will honor the fare per Forbes article.

Suggestions for what to do in ...

AUH (Abu Dhabi) (Check Groupon):
Grand Mosque [wiki] [map]
Kayak the mangroves [trip advisor] [map]
Ferrari World [trip advisor] [map]
Dune bashing/camel ride [trip advisor]

Hotels:
Qsar al Sarab

CPT (Capetown):
Take cable car to top of Table Mountain

JNB (Johannesburg):
Nelson Mandela Square (JNB) / also visit Butchers steak restaurant there

For JNB/CPT:
- use uber (safe and cheap) / if you travel to Sandton(JNB): use Gautrain from Airport. / review travel advise and do's/don'ts for traveling in JNB city.
- Tons of cheap flights btw CPT and JNB. Always use booking portals like orbitz, skyscanner, etc. to find good fares (for example on Kulula, BA, SAA, Mango, etc.)

MNL (Manila):
Ask on FT (in Destinations) - There are too many islands and beaches in the Philippines to list here.

Thanks for this. I guess my original question was that I don't know which fare class this is. On Etihad's site, it says:

EHOT3MUS

In that, I see the letters E, H, O, M, U, and S. All but O and S are listed as economy fare classes on the site you linked to. For my own education, would it be possible for you to share how I know which letter represents the fare class? I did try Googling that before I came here. I didn't figure it out and thought that someone here would know that answer in their sleep. Thanks for the help.

I booked JFK->Abu Dhabi in this sale through Orbitz.
I'm on EY 102 out and EY 103 back -- both on Jet Airways metal from what I can tell.
Fare basis says: EHOT3MUS

Can I accrue mileage in any program with this? I read about possibly accruing 100% AAdvantage if it's the right Jet Airways fare class, but I'm not sure whether or not that is an "M" class (too many letters and I'm too much of a noob). I'd definitely prefer to accrue something on AA -- but I'd just like to know what I can accrue and how. If I can accrue on Jet Airways, how do I bank that to AA? Do I give the check in agent my Jet Airways number when I arrive at check in?

I really appreciate any guidance and I'd be happy to buy you a drink in Dubai if you'll be there next weekend :-)

There seems to be some confusion here. This is not a Jet Airways ticket for any purposes. It's just a Jet Airways configured aircraft. The flight is operated by Etihad, and marketed by Etihad. So when you're looking to see what it will accrue, you look at the rules for Etihad flights.
For AA, those rules are here: https://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/e...nes/etihad.jsp
For Jet, those rules are here http://www.jetairways.com/EN/US/JetP...adAirways.aspx

If you have questions about how to credit your flight to a program, please search in the previous pages as the question has been discussed many times.

I got a call today from Expedia saying my flight has changed, it really didn't affect me too much as it is all for the same dates.

Instead of connecting through Dublin coming back, we are now connecting in Paris. I asked him why the change, he said because Etihad don't have a flight flying to Dublin that day... Interesting.

We are so looking forward to this trip!

First time international traveler here. I'm going ORD-CDG-AUH-CDG-ORD. Will I have to go through customs or anything upon arriving in ORD? I tried looking online but info was confusing. Is AUH pre-clearance (and what does that even mean?)

I won't have a checked bag, and the reason I ask, is because upon landing in ORD, I have to catch two more flights (ORD-BOS and BOS-DCA).

Thanks in advance!

I won't have a checked bag, and the reason I ask, is because upon landing in ORD, I have to catch two more flights (ORD-BOS and BOS-DCA).

Thanks in advance!
While there is indeed a US immigration and customs preclearance at AUH, there is no preclearance for the US when you are flying from the United Arab Emirates to France. There is no preclearance facility for US immigration at CDG.

When flying to the US, you always clear immigration and pick up your bags and go through customs upon entering the country (unless you are flying directly from one of the few airports with preclearance - mostly Canada, Caribbean, Ireland, UAE).

only amateurs fly non-stop. Experts use MPM and segments to get to status sooner. Among many, many other reasons.

Time is money. I'd rather get to a destination in 14 hours than fly all over the world for a few extra miles while giving up a whole bunch of extra hours that could be used working or enjoying myself in a destination.

You don't realize that this was in the MILEAGE RUN DEALS forum.

The title of this thread is JFK-AUH. Not JFK-IAD-ORD-MXP-CDG-AUH. I was called an amateur for flying non-stop which is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard.

I booked a return ticket in Priceline ORD-AUH-DUB-ORD. Today I received an email saying that there's schedule change, then I found that they changed my flights of AUH-DUB-ORD. The DUB-ORD leg was on AA, but now changed to Aer Lingus.. Whom should I contact to change it back, Priceline or Etihad?

Depends on your goal. It's absurd that there's been 4-6 posts on this very "topic" when none of it relates to the thread.

Also, I thought that was kind of a joke anyway. Only an amateur doesn't know that there's an appropriate time and place for each approach.

EDIT: Also, I didn't know you could route through Milan!!! (Looks up EY phone number...)
