Flight Changes
Many changes have been made due to Etihad schedule changes. In some cases, connecting flights are being swapped to nonstops. Some have been able to get this changed back by calling Etihad, others have not. You may have to repeat call / HUCA to get it switched back.

Been to Dubai too much this year to reasonably pull the trigger on this deal, and I already have a trip to Abu Dhabi early next year. Just keep in mind that it'll be scorching hot in AUH and DXB in the summer when you're booking, and a 1 day stopover in Abu Dhabi is enough unless you wanted to go to Dubai.

Not sure what your itinerary is but based on what I see on aa.com direct flights from usa-auh are not eligable but other non direct flights seem to earn redeamable miles only (but I could be interpreting it wrong). I am booked ord-dub-auh-dub-ord with ord-dub-ord on aa sold under a etihad codeshare and dub-auh-dub operated by etihad.
Unless I am reading it wrong I should earn full redeemable miles.
Coincidentally when I pull it up on AA.com it shows ord-dub-ord as AA flight numbers and as booked into O class. With dub-auh-dub as ey flight numbers in E class. not sure what that means but this is replacing a award flight so any miles earned are gravy

great fare for <$300 to JNB, although in 10 abreast 773. something to think about for next 24 hrs.
shows as confirmed on etihad site. not sure about the booked face class. best case scenario for me is 3.5 cpm for AA since JFK-AUH segments are not eligible.

Massive thanks to the OP for this one. Have made 5 bookings so far via the Orbitz Death Star and have dumped 2 (courtesy cancels, good 'til late tomorrow night 12/26!) for better deals or realignments, spending 3.5 hours and counting working on this so far. Here's what I have:

IAD-MNL 3/17-26 $364.60 RT a-i. Found good MNL fares from JFK and IAD only

ORD-AUH 4/16-21 $207.80 RT a-i.
This one yields $22.08 in Orbucks, or more than 10%, even. Day after tax day. Will likely be toasty in AUH but hopefully not quite unbearable. My one other trip was late April/early May, and amazingly the place can work as a beach destination if you stay near it, and waters are a nice blue. Also a lot of bang for the hotel buck...stayed at the Beach Rotana, which didn't have much of a beach but had a great outdoor pool and was a real coccoon spot for expats. Also right across from the airport-to-city bus terminal and along a number of bus lines.
Kind of unusual to play AUH as a weekend beach/mall destination, but if you hit it in March/April or September/October the weather can be OK. The big mosque is well worth seeing if you haven't been (Rihanna has been banned from future trips there). The ORD-AUH non-stops also have civilized departure and arrival times.

JFK-SEZ 9/23-10/5 $616. Had to follow my heart on this one (a bit more than wanting to spend) and will need a positioning flight, but a real dream trip and I've looked for years for a reasonable cost for that location. Plenty of time to plan. Saw only JFK flights this low to SEZ.
