MR Question - UA and Lufthansa
 

I am considering a MR to KWT from IAH next week and I have a choice of staying on UA metal or using Lufthansa to Germany (slighltly better schedule). Does it matter? Both are Star Alliance. Thanks in advance.

Major difference. United flights accrue mileage on all paid classes of travel. Lufthansa (LH) doesn't award mileage on the lowest fare classes (i.e. K-fare), which we typically use for mileage runs. Details on United's page on Lufthansa.

LH also doesn't count toward lifetime miles, which hurts your progress in MM program.
