FLL MR Needed
 

Need a mileage run (somewhere about 12,000 premier/medallion miles) before year's end on either UA or DL (I will fly enough myself for rest of year to make platinum on one, not both). FLL preferred but definitely could do PBI and possibly MIA if it was really worth it.

Thinking about FLL - ..... - ..... - ANC but that shows a lack of imagination and while there are sort of good fares, still isn't cheap. Suggestions?

You can get 12000 miles with two day trips from FLL to SFO on DL routed via DTW, $294 per trip. If you want somewhere more exotic, IST is under $1000 and will get the miles in one trip with the right routing. ANC will only get you 8000 miles or so, might as well just go with two west coast trips.
