DO NOT CALL THE AIRLINES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE WHILE A DEAL IS STILL ACTIVE.

Fare is gone: You can safely add your frequent flyer number, get seat assignments and poke about in your itinerary.

Checking Your Tickets

Check Alitalia status: https://mm.alitalia.com/us_en/BOOKING/Apvsearch.aspx
(middle names should be included with the first name without a space IN CAPITAL LETTERS. For example, First Middle O'Last becomes "FIRST MIDDLE" "O LAST"):

Check KLM/AF status: http://www.airfrance.us/cgi-bin/AF/U...rRbkAction.do?
(may also work to change/select seats. A name like O'Last becomes "Olast")

Check Ticket Details: http://www.saudiairlines.com/portal/...rlines/Welcome
Double Check: http://www.checkmytrip.com

Will this ticket be honored?

Based on the history of these deals and the US Department of Transportation rules you should be fine if you have a ticket number.

If your JFK-MXP flight shows as cancelled on the KLM website and the Alitalia website gives an error, don't worry about it. That having been said, there are several people about to do this, and if you're one of them please share you experience on this leg (if you cannot edit the wiki, PM WhIteSidE).

Wanna know your booking class?
Go to Delta.com:

Home > My Delta > My Trips > Trip Details > VIEW RECEIPT

Will I earn miles?

If you are in this for miles be aware that you may not earn miles.
  1. Delta: Booked on carrier websites: Yes. Despite earlier concerns, it appears that these fares will earn, miles on DL even if booked via priceline, as reported by cataclysmicvoid.
1.1. For 006 ticket with flight operated by AZ probably not. See this post. Please report back your experience.
  2. Alaska: No on AZ segments. No on most AF/KL segments because of the fare code. No on DL segments if not booked on 006 stock. No on DL if booked into O class. Yes on DL segments if you have a 006 ticket stock.
  3. KLM: Yes (will be at 50% or 25% depending on the exact fare booked)
  4. Air France: Yes (will be at 50% or 25% depending on the exact fare booked)
  5. Alitalia: Yes (will be at 50% depending on the exact fare booked)

More generally, these very cheap fares will typically not earn full miles. In some ways, AZ may be a good program to earn to as it appears many of the AF and KL flights that would earn 25% into their programs will earn 50% into AZ. It seems that most people departing from JFK are booked in O class which may not have much earning. Some people departing from LAX have V or other classes which do have earning benefits. The most earning will probably occur on an 057 (AF) or 074 (KL) ticketed and operated flight, credited to AS, if and only if the fare class is one of those listed as eligible on the Alaska earning website.

Thoughts? I think I will keep the flights credited to AS anyways as I don't really use any of the other sky team members so the miles would be worthless to me.

Any experience here?
I'll be flying sooner rather than later, so if anyone does get Alaska miles credit, now's the time to let us know.

Considering how extensive this thread is I'm amazed that we don't have a definitive answer. *technically* we earn 0 or close to nada on AS but if these have been posting as Y... Completely different.

I've come back from a RTW trip . Everything is perfect. 057 e-tickets have earned 100% miles on DL, booked on Priceline but no problem. For an AZ ’ O ‘ class only credited 50% on AZ itself, DL gives you 100%!Nice,isn't it?

I'm booked JFK-MXP on AZ, PRG-AMS-PEK on KL with a 006 stock. If I credit to DL, is it 100%?

Should be. Check your fare classes.

On 057 (AF) stock, only my AZ segments credited as Y. But AZ isn't applicable for AS, so I don't think that will work.

Does anyone have tips on CDG? Changing planes there and I am concerned about the timing, though Delta assures me 75 minutes is enough. Does one go through customs there when one is going on to another part of Europe, or does the passport check happen at the final destination? Assumed it happened when one entered the Schengen zone.

Check your arrival and departure terminal. Getting between terminals is a PITA.
However, within EU no customs but to depart EU you must hit exit controls.

CDG is similar to JFK era of separate terminals and independent carriers vs. combine programs. However, immigration in France is quite simple.

My tickets are 006(delta), however that happened... AS specifically says to credit delta flights it must be 006 ticket but O class doesn't count. Maybe I'll get lucky. IMHO 10k Skypesos are worthless to me so I'll risk it crediting to AS...

Just checked again. 006 ticket number but my DL flight JFK MXP is flight number AZ7603. This is all really confusing !

Just a heads up: for the first time since I booked my flights - my reservation now shows up on Ailitalia's website (it never showed up before). If you have had problems looking your JFK-MXP flights before, you might take another look.

For WN flyers: Delta just matched my CP/A-List Preferred status to Platinum Medallion - yes I'd like economy comfort seats for AMS-NRT, thank you very much (and at minimum, I will likely retain silver for next year).

I've been trying to change my seat on Alitalia for a couple of months. Everytime I call they say the system is down and they can't change it and to call back later. I've tried about 10 times to date. How can I change my seat?

I'm leaving (JFK-MXP-PRG-NRT) in about 10 days and for those who have traveled already, did you check your bags and pick them up at MXP? I saw one person say they picked up their luggage, but I just want to be sure and not go a week without my things.

I leave at the end of the month, but Yes, you pick up your luggage in MXP and take it with you. A week later you check in at PRG and get your luggage in NRT. On the flip side, I am overnighting in AMS, for which case, I check luggage at PRG and pick it up at AMS before NRT.
