There are two categories of US cities involved, DL hubs and other, generally secondary, airports.
From some DL Hubs, UA P fares are valid to a much wider range of cities in Europe:
SLC/MSP/DTW/ATL/CVG/MEM-AMS/MXP/FCO/CDG/MLA/VCE/TRN/FLR/NAP/PMO/CTA/BUD/PRG/CPH/IST/WAW/ARN/OSL/KRK/PRG/TLL/RIX/etc
(but not JFK nor LAX?)
Other airports are valid to a smaller set of cities in Europe:
BOS/SJC/SMF/MOD/BWI/BUR/ONT/SNA/PSP/HNL/SEA/PDX/AUS/PIT/TUS/TPA/ALB/etc/etc-AMS/MXP/FCO/CDG/MLA/VCE/TRN/FLR/NAP/PMO/CTA/etc
Most UA hubs don't have the fare filed (not SFO for sure), but apparently EWR has at least EWR-VCE/NCE (but not EWR-MXP/PMO/FCO/CDG)
Some destinations in Europe have a slightly higher base fare:
MRS/LYS
(please add more cities to either origin or destination side that are valid)
Be careful in your airline selection - there are PQM/RDM implications to this. For example, for the UA program, UA P earns 150% PQM/RDM, LH P earns 100% PQM/RDM, and it appears that OS P earns nothing.
Similarly it looks like UA P class credited to Aegean (A3) earns nothing. Visit this United webpage then click on the Star Alliance partner to determine mileage earnings.

I was a bit spooked by OS because when booking through UA, it's UA "P" class, which is not clear what it maps to, and OS P is not listed as mileage earning: https://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/mar...spx?ItemId=302
What's more, when looking at the fare filings, the OS fare for this is filed at "P", so I have a hunch that UA P maps to OS P (or if booking OS directly, it will be in OS P), rendering it possibly non-mileage accruing for MileagePlus.
PNC2S LH P Round-Trip 500.00(USD) B
PNC2S LX P Round-Trip 500.00(USD) B
PNC2S OS P Round-Trip 500.00(USD) B
PNC2S SN P Round-Trip 500.00(USD) B
PNC2S UA P Round-Trip 500.00(USD) B
ZNC2S AC Z Round-Trip 500.00(USD) B
It was enough of a risk, IMO, I booked on UA metal for all TATLs.

I was looking at BUR-FLR/VCE/FCO (as BUR is the closest airport to me) and finding almost nothing (looking end of August/early Sept.) - but, more importantly, I couldn't find anything longer than 1 week.
Resigned myself to a short trip, then suddenly discovered that SNA-FCO was wiiiiiiiide open. A bit far for me to drive to, but ended up booking 8/23-9/4 - and for less money than ex-BUR, all on UA metal and only 1 stop each way!

[EDIT: This was an accurate image for those dates as of about an hour ago, i.e. 7 AM PDT/10 AM EDT.]

it is marketing bs... basically you are laying STRAIGHT but at a downward angle so you are constantly sliding down. but, technically, you are laying flat (or straight).
Lie-flat is actually what you want/expect... 180 degree/straight/flat

This thread mostly discusses the deals from Monday, but it might give you some ideas. I'm currently wavering on IAD-IST for $1408 over 4th of July. Basically start with * hubs to * hubs (e.g., ORD-FRA) and branch out from there. Also try Google flights specifying your departure city and selecting SkyTeam from the airline drop-down.

Row 16 upstairs? sounds like you are on UA 744, not LH.
LH C-class rows upstairs are numbered 81 - 88.
