I suggest people call their CC companies proactively and tell them you might be making foreign transactions or traveling to Europe. Don't raise any red flags by providing details about the type of purchase or country. AMEX agent laughed when he read out loud the merchant name, so I am assuming he has been dealing with this all morning.

Do NOT call the airline. Do NOT draw unnecessary attention if you want to fly.

I'm a little annoyed that I didn't do this earlier, otherwise it would have been ticketed by now.

I did that early on and still no tickets or charges after 17 hours.

India is where I want to go, but I need to start the Visa process, as I don't yet have an India visa. I'd hate to cancel Milan and then get lose the India trip due to Visa hangups. Seems pretty unlikely. I am on a US passport, and wife is on a Spanish passport. What to do? I think I'll go ahead and cancel Milan.
What is the India visa process like? Has anyone done it recently?

My EWR-MXP booked at 14:52 yesterday ticketed within the past half hour. I haven't received an email from Wideroe, but my CC was charged and United shows it as ticketed.

ORD-AMS ($526): Booked 7:41pm EST. Not ticketed yet. Received fraud alert from Chase after the second ticket an confirmed it. Have received nothing from wideroe. Tried the link from this thread to confirm CC: details but nothing yet.

BAH trip purchased at 345pm (eastern) yesterday ticketed around midnight and MXP purchased at 230pm yesterday just ticketed within the past half hour. Long time to wait, but I think everything that has partners that work (ie not flyDubai or JetAirways) will eventually ticket.

(now do I still want to do both trips?)

I will also recommend VisaHQ. Top quality customer service, professional, and incredibly quick with turnaround.
