Lightbulb Any suggestions for MRY (or nearby) -SEA or MFR

We rather often fly to SEA and have trips coming up to SEA & MFR. The airfares are suprisingly high. We get it down a little by driving north almost 3 hrs to SFO or occasionally to SJC.

Usually fly UA (higher status), but AA, Alaska, DL are ok.

Has anyone discovered any routing that is cheaper than directs or maybe uses something like MRY-PHX-SEA... that adds miles, but costs the same or less?

We can fly to many places in TX or FL, etc for less than MRY-SEA... I appreciate the creativity of Flyertalk enthusiasts and would love advise!

Thank you!

Wrong forum...this isn't a "mileage run deal".

I'm not suprised the fares are high when involving MRY or MFR....both small cities with limited service....I would be more suprised if the fares were low.

Someone probably will help, but this forum is for deals found, not sought.

Mods have been alerted and this should be transferred to Mileage Run Discussion.

CIAlex - as I'm sure you know, Alaska pretty much matches UA on that route, so you could tack on a few more miles by connecting through SAN and then on up to SEA.

As a MRY flyer myself, we are a family of three and get a lot of value out of the companion pass (2 companions @$99 each + tax) that comes with the Barclay's USAirways card. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...5k-benies.html Has to be on US/US Express Metal though (no codeshare), so I don't think that'll help you for MFR. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/us-ai...l#post21436911
