[FARE GONE] UA: BOS-PHL $45 ow ai (N class; Great for segment runs)

UA N class through EOS.

$22 base fare one way.
Tue/Wed, slightly higher on other days.
Permittable routing: BOS-CLE/EWR/PHL/WAS-PHL

I think it's a great segment run or 3x. Not sure what's the consensus for segment run prices these days.

That's rather bizarre considering how much ransom US has demanded on this route in recent years. Hard to figure out UA's strategy with these N fares lately.

Looks to be a nice way for east coast UA FFs to accumulate a lot of segments and even miles without investing a lot of money or time.

Maybe it's because UA and US are about to be separated at the hip, so to speak, and becoming competitive, and UA wants the interested market to remember that it's in the game? Or is this way off the mark?

Ah hah! Thank you, CokeandTaco, for again looking after us Bostonians.

And, moreover, JetBlue will be my first choice for this run, thanks to its taking care of customers in coach the way that all airlines should on domestic flights. What a product! Now, if they'd just give the choice of AA miles on this run (during my "grace year" as an EXP).

[I have no connection with B6, except as satisfied customer.]

Somehow I just don't see UA having much chance of the business travel between BOS and PHL. Although, I guess if US decides to keep their sky-high fares, maybe some will want to connect.

meh

the time commitment != value IMHO

especially with the $150 same day to PHX that yields more miles at 2.8 CPM

same time commitment too

+1 and you should also consider the cost factor in getting to the airport: parking, tolls, transportation, ect.

If you could do several of these runs in a day ok then, but I would rather commit the time and spread the ancillary costs towards earning at least ~6k eqm's in a single day.

That's why you would take B6.... though it doesn't really earn FF miles... its cheap. I concur with the OP about doing BOS-PHX instead...

To each his own. I'd do it if I were within 1000 PQM of a tier. Or needing one segment.

But I agree with you in general.
