I paid $50 for a day via Sixt, though the place was extremely disorganized. The guy took 20 mins to show up once I rung him.

[Edit: I meant Sixt not Avis]

Good morning Sir,
The fare that you have purchased is a non-refundable fare as your ticket states. What you are showing me is not the fare rules for tickets purchased online.
An ordinary deception. How to fight them?

Argue. Demand to pull the fare rules and read the cancelation part to you. Ask for supervisor. Threaten CC dispute.

Not saying don't fight it. As I have gone to great lengths for a $5 refund once, but if it does go south (and not referring to the location of sez) be happy to know you are only out ~$200. Hopefully you manage to get it back!

Based on fare rules, its only a US$150 cancellation / refund penalty.

CANCELLATIONS

CHARGE USD 150.00 FOR CANCEL/REFUND.
However, since the base fare is only $288, its up to you to see if its worth the effort to fight this. Well, I guess the balance $133 and taxes.

Again:

Dear Mr.

Thank you for your email

Unfortunately the ticket you purchased is a non refundable ticket.

The only refund you will get is for the taxes.
Now, I send e-mail to Head of Sales in Air Seychelles.

That is the best I saw. Taxi is about the same (per round trip) So if you intend to make more than 1 trip per day a taxi is more affordable. Driving is easy, paved roads about 40kph on the entire island.

Depending on where you stay, one could rent bicycles.

2. Things to do/see on the island?
Valle De Mai (Valley of May)
http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/261
http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction...in_Island.html
This was EXTREMELY over priced. $30USD per visitor (Locals are free). Spent 45min walking in the lush and beautiful rainforest looking at the rare and exotice Coco De Mai fruits that are shaped like human reproductive organs.

I would compare it to a local county park, but with 1 interesting species of plant. I would never visit again

There is the world Famous beach: Anse Lazio
There is a night club (For Localcs, didn't visit, looks seedy)
There is a golf course (Didn't visit)
There is a ferry dock where one can launch to other islands, including La Digue ($60 RT per pax)
You can See Curiuese Island from the western shore, and take a private water taxi to the Tortoise preserve ($100 per group RT)

3. Any nice restaurants?

Cafe Des Arts is a nice french owned local restaurant. We spent $120 USD on a nice dinner for 2. It is 10m from the Indian Ocean.

Raffles has 2 nice restaurants but very Expensive.

There are a few good local restaurants that are reasonably priced.

We went on our honeymoon and loved every minute of it, but if you are an active type and want to "Do things" this is not the best place for that. I would go to Bali or Hawaii over this location, for activities.
