Wow. I seriously just got back from IAD-MEX-LIM - an awesome trip to Machu Picchu - and now I see this? At least it will help make the cost of the vaccinations seem worthwhile if I can go back to SA again

Thanks OP!

I know that international fares are not often filed with reverse options possible. Still, as a shot-in-the-dark question, has anyone seen any related fares from BUE-NYC? A friend in Argentina would love to visit me in New York again, and the $400-ish spend is preferable to using miles on the trip. Huge advance thanks for any info.

I hope AA would match this great deal.

What about 15-21 March? It is my Spring Break and I wanted to go to Latin America anyway... if someone can find a $300-400 fare to ARG/BR from the East Coast (I can't!)... I will be immensely happy.

Mistake?

Booked two trips speculatively. Planning to take only one. This has to be a mistake fare, right? Or is it just a great deal? I wasn't sure how long it'd be around which is why I was pretty quick to book.

TAM has had ~$400 fares r/t to MVD earlier in the year; those fares were honored and since the airline doesn't charge YQ this isn't a case of that surcharge being mistakenly left out. More likely than not, it's just a good deal that should stick.

You can book within 24 hours (or up until midnight the following day, can't remember which). It looks like there's no booking fees with this, so you should get every penny back if you do decide to cancel.

Easy prediction: this will be a oneworld-earning opportunity. Additional warning that leaving the secure area at GRU/GIG requires a tourist visa.

A good Malbec and filet mignon and night to all.

Miami-GIG-EZE is an option in June for the cheap rate on TAM that earns UA miles. I'm thinking I get off in GIG, spend a weekend, then fly home on a one-way miles ticket, realizing I'll be throwing away the rest of the EZE ticket.

I've just saved myself lots of money on a flight to Rio that otherwise costs a fortune. I love this thread!!!!!

Stop Over at GIG (twice)

I checked the stop over to and from NYC/JFK. There was a 15 hours and 9 min at GIG when leaving JFK on 2 Mar. The return has a 20 hours and 44 min at GIG on 10 Mar. This should be enough time to visit the beach on the way down and visit the Christ Redeemer statue on the return.
