Apologies! Another AA MR Thread! From RDU to Anywhere
Hi, all
Change in corporate travel has me not even qualifying for gold! I only qualified via a soft landing for this year.
I have never tried to organize a MR before and am a bit mystified as to how to start.
I currently have 9647 points and 17934 miles. Gold could be within reach, I don't think I could hit Plt.
I can fly the week-end of Dec 7 or Dec 29. I have some hotel certs, so an overnight stay is possible. Of course, I want as cheap as possible, but flying out of RDU isn't really conducive to cheap.
Much appreciation for any guidance from the FT crew!

RDU-ORD-SFO, redeye back for $380. No overnight at the airport. A bit overkill at 4900 miles, or 9800 miles. Would exceed GLD by 2k miles with DEQM promotion.
I couldn't find a cheaper or shorter flight.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
Right now I'm looking at rdu-DfwPdx-Sfax on dec 8. The NHL tip with a plt challenge is intriguing, but I'm not sure I can seriously spend that much on a mr. Plat for 2 years would be great but.....I am a cheapskate!
I will let you know what I finally book. Will probably do it later today

AATHX would be the best to take advantage of and you can easily get the miles with an overnight trip or sameday return with RDU-ORD/DFW-LAX for 242. Try to snag a giftcard for another 10% off if you can.
