The various classes of service earn mileage at the following rates:
F, P, A, R -- 100% base miles and 60% class of service bonus miles
J, C, D -- 100% base miles and 50% class of service bonus miles
Y, W, O, B, M, K, T, Q, L, X, V, G -- 100% base miles and no class of service bonus miles
'
The really cheap $1,189 one way on 1/15 (also available return) to CMB is in 'I' class, which is not listed on that email from delta assist..this worries me even more than no alcohol

For your information, passengers can accrue miles for travelling on
Saudi Arabian airlines with the following restrictions:
SV flights completed prior to May 28, 2012 not eligible for mileage
accrual
Only flights marketed and operated by Saudi Arabian Airlines are
eligible for mileage accrual.
No mileage credit for SV flights booked in E, H, I, N, S, U and Z
classes of service.

I emailed Delta an got a different response from everyone else. "I" is included in mine and says it does not get mileage:

RE: Lounges, you can pay... I don't know the price. Lounges in RUH/JED are not bad. Tasty food, fresh juice, wifi, showers. Can't complain.
As for the experience, SV is great in my opinion, the new seats are cozy. Service is fairly good, food is decent. Again fresh juice. My big problem is the lack of booze, nonetheless you are going to KSA, and unless you are hanging with the right people.. Well you know the drill..
Surely if you can get a good price on SV it's worth it Saudi Arabia is a very different place, and I would totally recommend a quick visit if you can! Also for those of you who are going out that way check out NAS air, they have super cheap flights in the region! SSH is not a bad place for a weekend, cheap flights and cheap beach resorts. Oh and there is booze!

Was going to book a 20 hour layover so I could get a transit Visa and go into the city but it looks like this probably wouldn't be approved for a visa and even if it were I couldn't do anything but go to the hotel. Anyone know?

Going in January during the Dubai Marathon. Not sure if that's a terrible idea with hotel costs, etc. but I imagine it'll at least be interesting.
EDIT: There's a 10k too. Sold, doing that. Arriving the night before so it'll probably be a terrible race for me but what the heck, I'll have fun doing it!

Just booked on Orbitz. No booking fee, because single-airline.
I have a 23hr layover in JED. Really hoping to try the Park Hyatt there. Will work on the transit visa on Monday.
