Bad idea
This is all wrong

Do the 9K flights STT-STX actually earn AAdvantage miles or count toward EXP qualification? The ability to buy them with AAirpass miles does not guarantee that they do.

crazy but cheap idea

maybe I am dense, but you are saying:
1.) Spend $10K on the airpass. 2.) Then fly STT-SJU 100 times 3.) pay $24.44 per segment rather than the published rate of $56 4.) Enjoy EXP status What happens to the remaining $7500 in airpass money? Does that expires within a year? With 3 RT per day this would take you 17 days of straight flying. I wonder how many times they would bump you for oversold situations. |

Yes, but you have to buy another 10k to not lose the 7500 rolled over.

Or bring a companion and only have to fly 50x. I recall the companion miles credit to the primary pass holder.
I think you'd have to add in at least $5 per segment for the taxes. |
That's a great idea
