Great find! (How does one go about finding something like this?)
14457 miles; K on BMI gives EQM/RDM 100% on UA, PHL round trip at say $550 is 3.7cpm.

EDIT: After doing more research, looks like you do need a visa to enter. You can pay the visa upon arrival but they tell you to have the form already filled out and clean cut USD already in hand. Not sure why.

Data point: $657 all-in from MCI but requires an overnight in either London or Newark on the return. 3.9 cpm.
Edit: If I actually stop and spend a couple days in FRU, I can avoid an overnight on the return. Might do that just to see a little bit of the city.

Visa Requirements for Canadians
Yes, if you are Canadian you need a Transit visa for Kyrgyzstan. You do not need a Visa for Baku, Azerbaijan UNLESS you leave the plane or leave the security area. Double entry transit visa is $50.

Using the last sale fare to ALA, I went to Almaty (as a stopping point en route to Khiva and Bukhara, historic Silk Road cities in Uzbekistan) over Christmas/New Year. Unless you have a burning desire to see Almaty, I would avoid it in favor of Bishkek. Almaty is insanely expensive (on par with Moscow). It is cheaper and easier to get to the main attractions in that part of the world (Uzbekistan's Silk Road Cities, Lake Issyk Kul) from Bishkek than it is from Almaty. The only highlight of our time in Almaty was skiing at Chymbulak ski area, in the Tian Shan mountains.
I can't recommend Khiva and Bukhara enough. Truly stunning locations unlike anything else I have seen in my travels. They definitely feel 2,500 years old.
